![]() As a north wind rippled through the native grasses of Missouri’s Tucker Prairie on a sunny afternoon in April, the burn was about to begin. But this fire — which would turn dozens of acres of grassland into ash in hours — was nothing to fear.

This is an early example of so-called "drone journalism." It effectively uses drones to capture the unique vantage point and demonstrates the scope of the fire.
This was three years ago and you can see the classic "jello" effect of a poorly-gimbaled GoPro on the UAV. This was fantastic for 2013, but our tools have rapidly evolved since then. Nevertheless and great early use of UAV to aid in telling a story. |
