Can we apply concepts used in video production to Prezi design? Let's find out! In this Prezi I pull terms from Bruce Block's book The Visual Story: Seeing the Structure of Film, TV, and New Media. Let me know what you think.

Prezi is an extremely effective tool to use in the classroom. It allows students to showcase their ideas by creating a presentation, and personalising this presentation to visually engage the viewer. The use of this technological tool also improves student engagement in learning, as it is an alternate way to express their opinions which does not require the traditional method of putting pen to paper. This visual tool allows students to create maps of texts, images, videos, graphics and more. Prezi is also a very effective tool to collaborate with other students. It allows up to ten different people to interact with each other in real-time to brainstorm ideas and create a presentation on one shared virtual whiteboard.

Prezi is an online-based software used to create an unstructured alternative to PowerPoint. Prezi provides an easy to use interface matched with a single page layout that can zoom in and out of specific parts of the presentation. The single page effects of zooming from one part to another provide an exciting and engaging transition. Prezi's unique unstructured design inspires creativity and with an education version available, this can be easily accessed by students.

PowerPoint is passe, it just can't compete for transferable presentation skills anymore.
