Week 4
Storytelling… it happens on an everyday basis and sometimes we do not even realize it. The clothes we wear, the hairstyle we have, etc. they are all telling others a story. That story is the story about you. People judge you based on how you deliver yourself and these judgements will be quick and before the person even talks to you. The same thing happens with businesses. They are able to post on social media a story about themselves, using videos and pictures to capture your attention, and talk to you about their personality and what they do. Whole Food Market does a great job at capturing the customer’s attention and giving them a brief background about the company and how they started. An individual can either relate to this and like the company or keep scrolling thru their newsfeed and ignore it. It is up to Whole Foods Market to make it as appealing as possible to every person that sees this story. They will want to fall in love with the company and visit it based off of the story. After taking and environmental sustainability course at Carleton, this story really appealed to me because of their sustainability efforts Whole Foods Market is trying to do. This is a great way of advertising without really advertising. There was no sales pitch going on or a laundry list of promotions. Just a story.
