It’s been a hot summer so far and many residents are away. Sometimes things happen in the summer without very much public attention. But things HAVE been happening this summer in Newtown Township that Newtown area residents should be aware of. Tickets are now on sale for the 14th annual Newtown Beerfest to be held on Saturday, Sept. 9 at the Stocking Works in Newtown.

Billed as Newtown's premiere beer festival, the event will showcase the area’s top breweries, live bands, and a number of seltzers and wines.

Funds raised at the Newtown Beerfest will benefit Newtown Fire and Rescue and help in purchasing rescue equipment, safety equipment, as well as supplementing the purchase of new fire trucks.

First Tap tickets, which typically sell out quickly, are $80 and allow patrons early access (12:30 to 2 p.m.) to their favorite pours.

General admission tickets are $50 and allow patrons access starting at 2 p.m. Designated driver tickets are also available for $15 and include access for the duration of the event.

Newtown Fire Association member and local businessman Andy Rich talks about the celebrated Newtown Beerfest, which will take place on September 18, 2021, at the Stocking Works, 301 S State St, Newtown, PA.

Andy emphasizes the major role that the beerfest has played in raising funds for the new $800,000 fire engine. All made possible by contributions from local businesses and residents!

Even so, Andy says more is needed to build up the understaffed volunteer and paid fire departments in Newtown.
