![]() "At the end of this week I will be jet-setting to Italy for two weeks! I am beyond excited, and to set the mood, I thought we would look at the top five names for each gender in Italy. The most recent data I could find was from 2012, but that shouldn't be too far off from this year's. Enjoy!"

Clare's insight:
So far I like: Sarai & Saul Annabel & Justice (I'm not normally a big Justice fan, but it works very nicely here) Adelina & Leonard (so grandparently!) Emilie & Stanley Ellen & Ben Libby & Ernest Sofie & Gilbert Nina & Finn Anna & Jonathan Honourable mention to Maria & Jesus. Hmm, I think I must have been on the look out for "nice elderly couple next door" names. I think the next game should be "most mismatched pair".

![]() The most popular Maori baby names in New Zealand for 2012 were Nikau and Maia.
Clare's insight:
A very good list to read out loud, though I agree with Nancy that it would be good to know more about the data - including, perhaps, Maori names given to non-Maori children. And those inter-language names are certainly a tricky area.
