IQ article source for relevant interviews in music.
Discussion of the relevance of Latin music and lack of it in main stream. I love that Latin music is coming to pop radio and appreciate the intention of manager Rebecca Leon.

This article is a Q&A with the manager to one of the biggest Latin stars in recent years, J Balvin. It talks about her personal path in the managing world and some of the challenges she runs into. I believe the source, IQ magazine, holds validity, even though there wasn’t much information about the specific author.

USA Today reliable news source. Discussion on the struggle of Latin artists in the music industry. I like that this this article touches on the explosion in Latin music and how it seemed to die down again.
Maria Ramos's curator insight, October 8, 2015 9:50 PM

People have been listening to Latin music in the United States for longer than they may realize. Some of the most popular artists out there are simply Latin artists that had recorded their albums in English. I love the fact that Latin music had been consistently gaining popularity over the years all around the world. People have been learning much more about Latin culture simply because they find a Latin artist they like. I hope this trend continues to grow and Latin culture becomes even more popular in the United States than it is now.

NBC reliable  news source for current events. Enjoyed this article on the topic of Latin music awards. It’s seems like there hasn’t been any main stream awards recognizing the Latin industry.

Maria Ramos's curator insight, October 8, 2015 9:58 PM

Award shows such as the AMAs are incredibly popular mainly because the artists they have on the programs are. The fact that Latin versions of so many award shows have started to air on television such as the Latin Grammys and now the LatinAMAs shows just how popular Latin music has become here in the United States. Despite the fact that Latin culture has been almost a controversial subject in the past year doesn't seem to be an obstacle for any Latin artists to expand and grow.

Billboard announces first ever Latin playlist on Spotify. Seems like a long overdue decision to make for Latin music. Source of information from Billboard.
Maria Ramos's curator insight, October 8, 2015 10:13 PM

I think the fact that something as popular as Billboard promoting Latin music is incredible! Not only does this show the increase in popularity for Latin music but it will also help its popularity even more. People will find Latin music playlists on something as popular as Spotify and hopefully they will listen to it and enjoy it and help Latin music grow.
