How Secure is Your MultiValue System and Data? – Pick Cloud, Inc.

How Secure is Your MultiValue System and Data? – Pick Cloud, Inc. | MultiValue News | Scoop.it
You lock your car, your house, and your office but do you lock down your MultiValue system and your data? Having a green screen or a MultiValue application doesn’t necessarily mean you are protected.  Even though we may be the best-kept secret, we are still susceptible to security incidents. Below are some of the ways to secure both your MultiValue application and your data in the cloud. This is merely an overview and we will go into more depth in future emails. Application Security Who has access to your application and how are they accessing it? Telnet is not secure. One of the key advantages of SSH over telnet is that the server authenticates itself to the client before it collects credentials from the client. This prevents someone from accessing your application who shouldn’t be. Here are some things you can do to lock down your application: Whitelist only the IP addresses of the locations that are accessing the application. Provide SSH keys to everyone who accesses the application. Anyone who does not have one will not be able to access the system. Use a VPN. Use YubiKeys if you want to be ultra secure. These require a physical key to authenticate the identity of the user. Printing can be made secure from the cloud by using products such as CirrusPrint. CirrusPrint allows secure document transmission using SSL. In addition, it compresses the print jobs, which reduces bandwidth. Data Security Every flavor of PICK/MultiValue has some way of encrypting files and data. This should be done to protect any sensitive information that may be in your application. At Pick Cloud, data is encrypted at rest and in transit automatically. We have access to a global team of more than 900 security experts who monitor the system 24 hours a day to detect and respond to attacks or issues. How does Google secure your system and your data? You can see how Google does it here. Even though Google may be protecting your data, no matter where it resides, your data is still yours. Bottom Line Hosting providers like Google spend top dollar to ensure their data is safe. They have the money and resources to pay for the best and highest level of security available – more so than an average SMB. By hosting your system with Pick Cloud, you can take advantage of the latest and greatest security software for a predictable monthly fee and at a fraction of the cost of paying for these security software/protocols on your own. How can we help you take advantage of the security and other benefits the cloud has to offer? Try our cloud FREE for 15 days with no credit card or commitment required. Once you try it, we think you will believe in the power of the cloud too.

BlueFinity International announces new features for rapid app development platform Evoke

BlueFinity International announces new features for rapid app development platform Evoke BlueFinity International has introduced new features and enhancements to Evoke, its rapid app development platform - making the tool even easier to use for companies looking to create professional looking, full function business apps for multiple devices more quickly and cost effectively. Evoke enables companies to cost-effectively create web, hybrid and native apps that fully integrate and synchronize them with existing back-end systems and databases. New Chatbot feature To improve help and support for users, a new chatbot feature has been added that will give users chat-style AI support. The chatbot interface is simple and intuitive to use. Once set up, users will be able to type questions and the chatbot will answer in a similar style to an online chat operator, and it delivers round the clock support. New Signature panel feature A new signature panel feature that allows users to use their fingertips to sign has also been introduced. This is the perfect solution for signing legal documents or to confirm deliveries electronically. Installing this feature into the app is easy and intuitive. Ability to print straight from the App Another useful component is an extended printing capability, where users can initiate the printing of information from apps running on all mobile and desktop devices. Improved development control Evoke now also enables better team work for multiple developers. It has introduced multi-developer source code control, where the team leader can set restrictions on who can access and change code and content. The team leader can then control the acceptance of sub-team developments in to the main development project. This ensures that junior and citizen developers can be used as part of a development team, without any risk of changing work completed by more senior team members. Improved ability to make layout changes and improved calculated field abilities It is also easier for developers to make changes to font style and sizes, as well as now offering expanded calculated field abilities with support for string expressions and data conversion.
