The proposed purchase of a roughly $1 million ladder truck in the Greenville Fire District comes as police investigate alleged insurance fraud involving another fire department vehicle, The Journal News has learned. The new truck would replace Ladder 4, the subject of a complaint accusing fire officials of lying about an accident in Aug 2012 and filing a false insurance claim.
