Dirk Zetzsche, professeur et chercheur auprès de l’Université du Luxembourg, s’est associé à deux autres spécialistes des fintech, Douglas Arner à Hong Kong et Ross Buckley à Sydney, pour faire avancer la recherche sur la réglementation des fintech.

L’Université du Luxembourg a annoncé ce mercredi que l’un de ses membres, le professeur Dirk Zetzsche, titulaire de la chaire Ada en finance inclusive, s’était associé à deux autres chercheurs – le professeur Douglas Arner, de l’université de Hong Kong, et le professeur Ross Buckley, de l’université de Sydney – pour faire avancer la recherche sur le droit et la réglementation des fintech.

Verfolgungsjagden auf Luxemburger Autobahnen will sich die Polizei demnächst elektrisch liefern: Das geht aus einer Meldung von RTL hervor. Demzufolge hat die Polizei zwei Tesla S bestellt, die jeweils rund 100.000 Euro kosten werden.

Mit diesem Pilotprojekt, an dem das Ministerium für Nachhaltigkeit beteiligt ist, soll getestet werden, wie sinnvoll der Einsatz von Elektrofahrzeugen derzeit ist. Die Entscheidung, solche Fahrzeuge ausgerechnet für die Polizei anzuschaffen, begründet laut RTL ein Sprecher der Polizei auch damit, dass nur diese Behörde über eine eigene Autowerkstatt verfüge.

Die brauche man aber, um alle relevanten Daten zu erheben, die wiederum nötig sind, um die Sinnhaftigkeit der E-Mobilität zu beurteilen: Was kostet eine Aufladung der Batterien? Wie weit kommt man damit? Wie wirtschaftlich ist der Einsatz?

After a long summer break it's almost back to school time for pupils across Luxembourg. But the date when students will be getting their pencil cases ready to go back to class varies across the systems and schools.

Here is a list of term dates for the school year 2017-2018 for the local system and international schools.

Luxembourgish school system

Pupils in primary school, classic high school and general high school will return on September 15.

Those in 7è will return on September 18.

For all other secondary education and technical secondary schools, classes will start again on September 19.

For as little as 12 euros for a day, visitors can hire bikes in Wasserbillig and travel the length of the country, exploring its rich viticulture along the way.

Steam Punk is a unique event for young and old, who want to be enchanted by unusual mechanical creations. Musical and artistic performances complete the programme.

Different stalls of a Victorian market are installed inside an outside of the Paul Wurth Hall where the visitors can buy self-made jewellery, accessories and clothes from passionate artisans. The brick, steel and glass architecture is the perfect backdrop for this particular event.

The weekend is completed by artistic and musical performances: circus artists, theatre, dance, music…

Bei ihrer ersten Kandidatur bei den Kommunalwahlen im Jahr 2005 gelang ihr sofort der Sprung in den Walferdinger Gemeinderat, 2011 wurde sie dort Schöffin. Seit Januar 2016 ist die 37-jährige DP-Abgeordnete Walferdinger Bürgermeisterin, nachdem Guy Arendt in die Regierung berufen wurde. Wir haben mit Joëlle Elvinger eine Bilanz der zu Ende gehenden Legislatur gezogen.

Frau Elvinger, die Mobilität war eines der Hauptthemen im Koalitionsabkommen von 2011. Was hat sich in diesem Bereich getan?

Joëlle Elvinger Die Gemeinden im Alzettetal haben in den vergangenen Jahren ihre Kooperation im Rahmen der „Conventioun Uelzechtdall“ verstärkt, um Lösungen zu finden, um den Verkehr auf der N7 flüssiger zu gestalten.

Nach der Öffnung der „Nordstrooss“ soll sie nun nach und nach zurückgebaut werden, um so den Durchgangsverkehr zu reduzieren und eine Verkehrsberuhigung für die Einwohner zu erzielen.

Wir legen zudem einen bedeutenden Akzent auf die sanfte Mobilität. Radfahrer sollen bald nahtlos über einen Radweg von Hesperingen nach Mersch gelangen können.

The latest figures are now available for Expert Market’s annual analysis of the world’s most (and least) productive countries. The report investigates levels of productivity in over 35 countries across the world, to gauge which nation has the most effective financial return during the least amount of working hours.

Productivity levels are determined as GDP per capita data divided by the average number of hours worked in the nation, with data used from the International Monetary Fund and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

A Luxembourg hospital has introduced a digital self check-in system allowing patients to register their own arrival when they turn up for an appointment, without having to go through reception.

The new system was launched at the Niederkorn site of Centre Hospitalier Emile Mayrisch (CHEM) and is set to be extended to the centre in Esch.

A self check-in machine has been installed at the entrance and patients can confirm their arrival by scanning their health insurance card and confirming personal details relating to the appointment.

The new system was created to reduce the waiting time at reception and allow patients to be easily and immediately separated into inpatient and outpatient care.

Die Bestimmungen zum Lebensende ('Dispositions de fin de vie') sind ein Antrag auf aktive Sterbehilfe, der im Voraus schriftlich festgehalten wird für den Fall, dass der Antragsteller sich zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt nach dem aktuellen Stand der Wissenschaft in einem Zustand unumkehrbarer Bewusstlosigkeit befindet.

Die folgenden drei Bedingungen müssen erfüllt sein: Bewusstlosigkeit, Unumkehrbarkeit der Situation und Unheilbarkeit.

Falls Sie Bestimmungen zum Lebensende verfassen, muss das Dokument bestimmte Elemente erhalten, wie Datum und Unterschrift.

Jede volljährige Person, die dazu in der Lage ist, kann schriftlich die Umstände und Bedingungen festlegen, unter denen sie aktive Sterbehilfe erhalten möchte.

Um die Wartezeiten am Anmeldeschalter zu verkürzen, hat das CHEM (Centre hospitalier Emile Mayrisch) in Niederkorn ein digitales Anmeldeportal für Krankenhausbehandlungen aufgestellt. Es handelt sich um eine Premiere in Luxemburg.

An einem Check-in-Automaten im Eingangsbereich kann der Patient mit wenigen Klicks seine Anwesenheit bestätigen. Das weiße, digitale Anmeldeportal befindet sich sofort auf der linken Seite, wenn man die Eingangshalle betritt, und steht den Patienten seit Mai zu Verfügung. Der Automat ist in der Größe verstellbar, damit niemand Probleme mit der Bedienung hat. Auch an Menschen mit Sehproblemen wurde gedacht. Diese bekommen Anweisungen von einem Sprachroboter. Die Anmeldung kann in den Sprachen Deutsch, Französisch, Englisch und Portugiesisch durchgeführt werden.

Daten werden automatisch erfasst

Der Patient muss lediglich seine Krankenversicherungskarte einscannen und die angezeigten persönlichen und terminbezogenen Daten auf dem Bildschirm bestätigen. Danach werden die Daten automatisch erfasst und dem Patienten wird eine Wartenummer zugewiesen. Bevor der Patient einen Termin in der entsprechenden Poliklinik bekommen kann, wird seine Identität noch einmal vom Personal des Niederkorner Krankenhauses überprüft. Bislang melden sich rund 30 Patienten pro Tag mithilfe des digitalen Anmeldeportals an.

In one month, on September 9, the second edition of the Ultratrail in Müllerthal will take place. The race will start at 12.05am at the Place du Marché in Echternach.

For the second time this year, Luxembourg's so called 'little Switzerland' welcomes trail runners from around the world to participate in the race and power through three different trails -- the normal trail of 38 kilometres, the long trail of 75 kilometres and the ultra trail which is 112 kilometres.

Last year's competition had 250 participants, including the winners of the Ultratrail, Gary Assel and Claire Schweigen.

The courses are on very uneven surfaces and pushes the participants to their limits, at the same time as blending into a beautiful setting and giving you an opportunity to discover a part of Luxembourg that isn't as frequently visited as others.

Das Interesse an unseren informatischen Ausbildungen ist enorm gestiegen. 2004 hatten wir 80 Schüler, die eine Informatikklasse besuchten. Heute sind es mehr als doppelt so viel“, sagt LTE-Direktor Patrick Strauss.

Das Lycée technique d'Esch-sur-Alzette bietet schon seit Jahren Informatikerausbildungen an, im Régime technique général und in der Berufsausbildung (DAP und Techniker). Die Schule geht jetzt noch einen Schritt weiter. Ab der nächsten Rentrée werden auch Classique-Schüler ab 3e Zugang zu einer Informatikerausbildung haben.

Das LTE ist eine von drei Schulen, die eine Informatiksektion einrichten. Das LTE kann dabei noch nicht auf eigene Schüler zurückgreifen, da die Schule bisher keine Classique-Klassen im Angebot hatte. Aber der Direktor ist zuversichtlich, genügend Schüler aus nahe gelegenen Schulen für eine erste „3e I“ anlocken zu können.

Doch schon ein Jahr später wird das LTE eigene Schüler für die I-Sektion „herangezüchtet“ haben. Die Schule hat 2015/16 ein Projekt gestartet, das es leistungsstarken Technique-Schülern erlaubt, nach der 7e intern auf eine 6e Classique zu wechseln. Diese Schüler sind beim Start der I-Sektion auf 4e und können ein Jahr später eine 3e I besuchen.
