Voicethread is a free online collaborative tool that can be used across the curriculum to present, rehearse and assess learning by initiating group conversations around images, documents and videos. Responses can be made via video, voice and text commenting.

CuePrompter is a free teleprompter/autocue service where you simply copy and paste your French text into the teleprompter text box, decide which font/background settings you want then click on Start Prompter at the bottom of the page and it will convert your text into an autocue passage to be read at a speed of your choice. Great strategy for memorising a speaking script!

Popplet is a new service that combines the best of online sticky note services like Wallwisher with collaborative mind mapping functions. Popplet allows you to create a wall of multimedia sticky notes that you can share with others. Your stickies can include videos and images that you pull from other online services. You can also upload media from your desktop to your sticky notes. Popplet offers a browser bookmarklet that you can use to add content from other webpages to your Popplet pages. Invite others via email to collaborate on your wall of sticky notes.
The mind mapping element of Popplet is the option to connect your notes. To do this just click one of the small circles that hovers near your note (Popplet calls them "Popples") while you're editing. Click those small circles will launch a connected blank note that you can edit.
You can create as many Popplet walls as you like within your account. Each Popplet that you make public can be embedded into your blog or website.

MYLO is a free KS3 and KS4 language learning resource developed for the Department for Education and run by RM Education. It offers a new way to learn French, German, Spanish and Chinese.

LyricsTraining is an easy and fun method to learn and improve your foreign languages skills, through the music videos and lyrics of your favourite songs. You can choose your language, select which level: easy/medium/hard and choose an interactive activity you'd like to time yourself doing. These great-looking word clouds are super quick to generate - simply copy and paste your chosen vocab into the 'create' screen on www.wordle.net then press Alt + PrntSc at the same time on your keyboard, paste into PowerPoint and crop/resize as you wish. You can also right-click and select Save Picture As ... to make a separate picture file of your Wordle.
Also, if you install CutePDF you can make your Wordle into a pdf file too. Simply go to Print and select CutePDF as your printing option. A dialogue box will appear and you can save your Wordle as pdf there: http://www.cutepdf.com.
Wordles can be a fun homework activity too as many students enjoy being creative with them.
The Wordle pictured here is one I created in House colours from the revised behaviour expectations last summer for the school's new BfL policy. It is basic, but you can include much more detailed vocabulary and even copy a full text from which the Wordle generator will automatically enlarge the most frequently occuring words.

These short BBC clips are ideal for SEN students. There are four clips in total on the topics of Pets, School, Weather and Clothes. They are based on the funny antics of two bilingual (English & French speaking) kids called Spud and Soda and a French dog called Farley - very funny!
