You know the routine by now: click the "Watch on Vimeo" button to watch this teaser for the new intranet of an Australian news broadcasting organization.
The intranet has been designed for mobile, with a ton of mobile apps. Lots of focus also on a complete profile so you can find colleagues with certain skills and be found.
It mentions Office365 but it does not look as if the intranet has been built on that - perhaps they use it in the background.
Rather harsh lighting on the person introducing this new intranet for this health care services organization in California, USA. It does not look very glamourous, but it is a beta version and invites feedback on every page.
For the rest, it has a lof of useful information, but does not look very social or collaborative. Perhaps the next version will take care of that.
Long but useful demo of the intranet of a global Marketing and Brand agency. (The teaser by the CEO is next to this video)
All the usual trimmings but I would like to draw attention to the Profile Completion Score, which is 100% when you have uploaded a picture and added your timezone, expertise, job start date and LinkedIn profile. Nice!
This demo can also be used for new joiners, so money well spent.
To be honest I do not understand much of the spoken word in this video, but I see that this intranet has a nice design with many pictures, and a lot of content that you would expect for a university intranet.
The main part of this intranet (of a province in the Netherlands) is The Plaza or The Square, where you can get most of your information, reserve meeting rooms, get your payslip etc.
Collaboration is done in the Workspaces or on Yammer.
This intranet will help you do your work even better and therefore you can personalize it. Ofcourse it is also accessible on mobile devices. It looks like SharePoint (in the back end).
Laughing out loud when I watched this video. A prime example of how your intranet promotion video can mirror your company! Imagery, animation and language have been carefully selected to fit a construction company.
"Please give a good whack on the logo" says the leading character, carrying a big hammer, "to return to the homepage".
The intranet can be personalized to your needs, and there is also a social component, with the warning to 'take care of your language".
Slightly longer than most videos in my collection, but it is a nice demo of this intranet for a Dutch engineering company in Infrastructure.
It is Office365,, but the intranet does not look like SharePoint at all!
The left-hand columns are the same for everyone and contain things like News, Documents (this is SharePoint), various Departmental intranets. The right-hand column is visible on every page and contains your personally selected information such as weather forecast and traffic situation.
This intranet also needed an update, according to the voice-over, and indeed, this new version looks very crisp and modern. You can personalize news, find colleagues easier, have interactions with colleagues, and the Search "has been improved". Of course! :-)
The idea is, that if you can do your work faster, there is more time for customers. Which is a good starting point if you are a health care Insurance company.
¡Bienvenidos a la nueva Intranet del Arzobispado de Santiago! Espacio diseñado para promover la comunicación interna y facilitar los flujos de informació
Ellen van Aken's insight:
Long but useful demo of the new intranet of the archbishopric of Santiago, Chili. It looks very engaging, with many pictures and videos. It is mainly communication-based, but you can add comments to news, and there is even a special section for surveys, including a question about the new intranet.
Rather long demo for the relaunched and improved intranet for this organization for the wellbeing of people with a developmental disability in the USA.
The intranet is quite corporate and a central hub for information and daily work. I do not see a lot of interaction or social features.
How to turn your Office Procedure Manual into an online intranet.
Ellen van Aken's insight:
One of the founders of this health care center talks you through the intranet. He discusses not only the why of the intranet, but also gives you a tour, which is extremely hard to understand if you only see and hear him talking, but do not see the site itself. I would consider this a less fortunate example of a demo.
The intranet contains the information and procedures for staff of this health care center.
Interesting and extensive demo for the intranet of the city of Clermont-Ferrand in France. You can personalize it, and I can see the benefits since it contains lot of information, both about the city and about being an employee. I like the restaurant menu, but also the integration with Outlook, the applications that you can access from the intranet, and the various messages that all come together in this place. Visually attractive and modern but I do not see many social elements, nor references to mobile devices. Uploaded March 2017.
Great video showing a very specific use of Yammer: pictures from sales employees from shops to see how campaigns are being picked up by customers and how displays look. As a food technologist who has worked for the consumer market I really like this. And it is easy for sales folks: make a picture and upload to the correct group in Yammer while you are in the store.
In between there's a short guide with do's and don'ts.
All in all, a nice mix of an excellent Yammer business example, real people, loud music and helpful guidance.
It is clear that this is a relaunch as the old intranet had al the usual shortcomings! Nice combination of teaser and demo for the new, on-brand SharePoint intranet for the law firm, specializing in intellectual property. Of course there is news and announcements, people and general search etc.
I like the "access to old tools" as it shows they have revamped everything while leaving an option to do things the old way (as long as needed, I hope).
I also like the world clocks - I know some people are really opposed to them but in a global company they make perfect sense.
Rather long animated demo for MyGAC, a very HR/employee-resources focused intranet. You can request leave, check payslips, enroll in training, and do your yearly performance review in this tool.
The main characters are Spinach, a Pear and a Courgette.
Oh well, this is a company that produces fruit and vegetables.
This is definitely a nice demo, but as this intranet is quite extensive, it is still a little superficial, despite its lenght of 4'20"so I wonder if this would be sufficient for new employees.
The intranet has a lot of the usual stuff, but also a section to order work clothes and an offer to have your car wrapped in the company design.
For a Cleaning Services company with a large non-desk-working population I would have expected a mobile version, but there is no mention of that. There are wiki and commenting sections so the social component is catered for.
I like their frankness - "you may expect some technical issues while this is brand new".
This intranet for an Italian construction company is called @Work, I like that. It also looks very nice and glossy and has won several awards. It is "more than an intranet" as it is "designed like a web page", interactive, multimedial, responsive, collaborative and what not. Impressive!
My other version of this video has been removed, but fortunately the creative agency still had a copy.
I think I remember this video won an Award in the Intranet Innovation Awards from StepTwo Design in 2012 or thereabouts.
The narrative is about Frank on his quest to more knowledge about his work, whether that is in the heads of colleagues, or written down. As long as it can be found.
The intranet can be personalized and contains a lot of regular useful tools.
Did you know you can have your own company log-in page for Office365? This American chain on animal clinics has added a very nice and apt picture!
Otherwise this is a solid demo of the various elements on the homepage. I like the column with the "Facebook page of a random clinic". Great to get to see what your colleagues are doing!
The sound volume is rather low.
At the moment there are 4 demo/instructions videos. You can find them by clicking on the company name.
