The Trump FCC is doing everything it can to destroy the open internet — and on July 12, the internet is fighting back.
Jerri Lynn Hogg's insight:
A day without the Internet - Free Press along with many high traffic websites such as Amazon are signing on to defend net neutrality. Still not clear if they are shutting down for the day, having slow loading icons, or posting commentary on landing pages. Mark your calendars, July 12th. Should be an interesting day.

Jerri Lynn Hogg's insight:
Sign of the times as we shift to adapt to the influence of technology. The question remains how this shift influences our behavior. Will the developed neural pathways provide us with the additional sensory information we need to not make this a really unsafe idea?
Ironically, the act of creating the 'texting while walking' lane forces student to consider how they use technology while walking in order to pick the right lane. The choice forces students to stop and think about it. The result? Momentary tech mindfulness. Reverse psychology (aka good parenting).

"You are unique. You are different. You are special," according to new millennial-targeting (spoof) ad from Dissolve, a stock footage house.
Jerri Lynn Hogg's insight:
At a conference recently I was seated next to a few Millenials. The speaker was just at the point where he was providing the pejorative stats on Millenials. The two seated next to me rolled their eyes. Once again dissed and folded in to one big generic group. Under their breath both muttered something about the dehumanizing aspect of again being grouped in this way. This is a Generic Millenial Ad is a well-done spoof capturing what might have been behind the eye roll.
Quote "High Fidelity's structure is intended to resolve two of Second Life's most persistent problems: scale and latency. Because Second Life was built on Linden Lab's servers, there was often a lag between action and response, and no more than 40 or so avatars could be in one place at any time. But Second Life was built before cloud computing. Why doesn't High Fidelity use Google Cloud or Amazon Web Services? Because these giant server farms are too small for what Rosedale has in mind. "In the next ten years we'll see the internet become VR," he says. "That's not a hosted service. The internet is not a hosted service."
