Creating an comfortable environment is always necessary and helpful not only for teachers but for students as well . We know students are not the same and have different personalities, beliefs, etc. It is a great idea to ask specific questions to your students in order to know what would work with them and what would not work.
Esmeralda García O's curator insight, August 1, 2018 10:55 AM

It proposes a list of some questions that can be made at the beginning of our classes. I could notice that the focus of those questions was school students and for that reason using them on another context won´t be that successful.

guanxiu jnu's curator insight, September 16, 2017 7:52 AM
This work mainly clarify the importance of making mistakes for students when they are study in school. Everyone need to make mistakes, but the difference between success and failure is that success can get experience from the mistakes. Teachers should create hard scenarios,  whose goal is to help the students to grow.
David Alzate's curator insight, September 17, 2017 5:45 PM
Leticia Guzman is a teacher who through this article reflect on the position we teachers assume when it comes to our student’s mistakes or failure in class. Leticia estates that we as teachers need to remember that learning by making mistakes is important, that we can not expect to have our students to be always perfect or completing tasks without failure. Leticia also noted that teachers should provide a classroom space for students to take risks, to make decisions, to fail and explore other different ways to solve a problem, and that the teacher should always be there to supervise such process.Leticia mentioned that a teacher should not penalized all students’ mistakes in the classroom, but instead should always foster a creative thinking for students to find solutions after struggling to comply a task.

Edutopia blogger Mark Phillips suggests that a critical piece of student learning is the physical environment of the classroom itself. He offers examples of and resources for turning impersonal spaces into student-friendly havens of learning.
Maddie Stout's curator insight, July 14, 2021 1:12 PM
During a pandemic, it’s hard to think about what you’re missing out on from in person classes. As it turns out? A lot. There is so much that goes into getting a student involved in the learning that many people have no idea about. For example, the layout of the room is extremely critical in affecting a student’s morale. Students also tend to work better in a community setting, where they can lean on their peers, and feel encouraged to learn when other students are trying right next to them.
