As a result of the second call for internal ignition grants, iBB has approved 5 internal collaboration projects and 7 international partnerships, which span the four thematic areas of the strategic plan of iBB: Stem Cell Bioengineering, Advanced Bioprocessing, Post-Genomic Technologies and Environmental Challenges. The projects have the duration of 18 months and are funded with16 k€. With this second round, the total of ignition grants awarded by iBB increases to 24. The internal funding of research projects aligned with the objectives of the thematic lines is one of the key steps for the implementation of iBB's Strategic Program for 2015-2020.

As a result of the first call for internal ignition grants, iBB has approved 4 internal collaboration projects and 8 international partnerships, which span the four thematic areas of the strategic plan of iBB: Stem Cell Bioengineering, Advanced Bioprocessing, Post-Genomic Technologies and Environmental Challenges. The projects have the duration of 18 months and are funded with12 k€ to 24 k€. The PIs will have the opportunity to give a short presentation of their projects in the iBB meeting which will be held on the 8th September 2015 (2 to 5 pm, Amphitheater 02.2, Torre Sul, Alameda campus).

The iBB plenary meeting of 2016 will take place on the 2nd February from 14:30 to 18:00 H (room QA1.4, South Tower, Alameda Campus, IST). The meeting is dedicated to the presentation of the internal pilot research projects that are currently being funded by iBB ignition grants. The projects are designed to foster i) internal colaboration between BERG and BSRG and ii) the international and industrial partnerships, and are aligned with the four thematic research lines identified in the 2015-2020 strategic plan of iBB: Stem Cell Bioengineering, Advanced Bioprocessing, Post-Genomic Technologies and Environmental Challenges.
