But the Rainmaker session devoted to “Reimagining Ticketing” presented a united front, with the moderator, speakers (and seemingly the audience) in agreement that something must be done to address fraud in ticketing. As moderator Jeremy Thompson, VP of Policy Communications at Live Entertainment, noted when starting the panel, the T word that’s dominating our industry isn’t tariffs – it’s ticketing.

Last night (Saturday, April 19), Kendrick Lamar and SZA played the first show of their joint Grand National Tour at Minneapolis’ U.S. Bank Stadium. Over the span of a mammoth, 52-song setlist, the musicians and TDE labelmates traded the stage back and forth and debuted tracks from their newest releases—2024’s GNX and SOS Deluxe: Lana. Lamar began his first set rapping “Wacced Out Murals” from behind the wheel of his now-signature black Buick, while SZA’s performances featured an insectoid flair throughout, including a video of a female praying mantis devouring her mate that played while she sang “Kill Bill.” The two duetted on “30 for 30,” “Doves in the Wind,” “All the Stars,” “Love.,” “Gloria,” and their No. 1 hit single “Luther.” Check out the full setlist, plus photos and footage of the show, stage, and merchandise, below.

Moderated by Jarred Arfa, Executive Vice President and head of Global Music at Independent Artist Group, the panel, “How Venues Can Partner in Booking, Marketing and Taking Risk” sponsored by Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum during Pollstar Live! looked at how venues can be better partners and not just landlords.
