TikTok ups its superfans rev-share for North American creators

TikTok ups its superfans rev-share for North American creators | Hypebot • new music industry, music marketing & music tech news from across the web | Scoop.it
TikTok has tweaked the revenue share it offers creators in the US and Canada for superfan subscriptions, giving them a bigger percentage of the digital loot.

From the start of this month they get 70% of the net revenue from fans subscribing to their profiles for exclusive streams and perks. What’s more, they can up that to 90% through an “exciting new bonus opportunity” that has yet to be announced in detail.

This is a big jump over the rest of the world. TikTok’s FAQ page explains that creators outside North America will continue to get 50% of the net revenue from superfan subscriptions on TikTok, although they’ll get a 20% bonus to 70% if they have at least 10,000 followers and get more than 1m video views in the last calendar month.

Live Nation Ticket Arbitration Battles Reach Two High Courts

Live Nation Ticket Arbitration Battles Reach Two High Courts | Hypebot • new music industry, music marketing & music tech news from across the web | Scoop.it
Live Nation and Ticketmaster’s long-running fight to force consumer ticket disputes into private arbitration has moved onto two new appellate fronts, with separate cases now before the Second Circuit and Nevada Supreme Court testing different limits on how those agreements can be enforced.

In New York, two secondary-market ticket buyers have asked the Second Circuit to overturn a June ruling that sent their antitrust claims against Live Nation and Ticketmaster into arbitration. Their petition argues that the federal judge who issued the order skipped a threshold question: whether the Federal Arbitration Act even applies to claims stemming from tickets they bought from third-party resellers such as StubHub.
