Music streaming service posts positive figures in face of competition from Apple and Amazon
Rodriquez Sumters insight:
Spotify started out at the bottom of the chain. The services were free at one point in time. Now they are on top surpassing Apple, Napster, etc.
Anthony Cain's curator insight, September 12, 2018 5:51 PM
This recent post back in July states that Spotify has 83 million subscribers which is huge. In my opinion it makes more sense for artists to stream music through these kinds of outlets to build fan bases.
Quamika Wyatt's curator insight, July 28, 2:29 PM
This is important to the music industry period. We have Apple Music, pandora, tidal, etc and Spotify has worked it's way up! I believe Spotify has become successful so fast because it allowed all artists to stream their music on a free platform.

After laughter comes tears. Shiggy really made things awkward for Safaree one day ago. The residual effect is still being felt today. Shiggy, the 'In my Feelings' sensation, has somehow become a regular partisan, brushing shoulders with everyone from Drake to Fabolous. But how did end up consortin
Rodriquez Sumters insight:
When speaking on celebrities there are a lot of publicity stunts that takes place in the music industry. Being that Safarree is most popular from being Nicki Minaj’s ex, he is also known mostly from rumors. I feel like his feelings towards the song may not be real. I think it’s just something to keep his name relevant.
Quamika Wyatt's curator insight, July 28, 2:21 PM
Nicki Minaj was with Safari since before her career jumped off. After breaking up he joined LHHNY and started dating Erica Mena. Safari is known for doing the most for attention so his response to "Come See About Me" may have been fake.

Sam Smith's "Dislike" Of Michael Jackson Has People In Their Feelings | AUDIO ARTS IN THE ENTERTAINMENT & MEDIA INDUSTRIES • Audio News Collections | Scoop.it
Sam Smith won't exactly be lining up for that 'Billie Jean' karaoke session. These days, it seems as if there exists an amorphous mass, who seems to sniff out the slightest hint of anything remotely controversial. Upon latching onto the scent, they form like Wu-Tang killer bees, taking to variou
Rodriquez Sumters insight:
Singer Sam Smith is getting dragged after he was recorded saying he doesn’t like Michael Jackson. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. There could be various reasons why he doesn’t like him. He’s probably talking about Michael’s music and not him in general. It’s a lot people that didn’t like Mike, Prince, Whitney, Jesus, but hey it’s life, it happens.
