Mobile Clinics | University of Detroit Mercy

Mobile Clinics | University of Detroit Mercy | Helping Resources | Scoop.it
Since the 1970’s, the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry has been active in the Southeastern Michigan area proving access to dental services for the underserved populations through several community outreach programs. Today, our Mobile Programs provide services to children, adolescents, adult and geriatric populations in underserved areas. Preventative services are provided through Shield a Smile as comprehensive services are provided via Titans for Teeth. These programs provide access to care in dentally underserved areas. Through our Mobile Programs, thousands of patients a year receive necessary treatment in order to achieve and maintain oral and systemic health. Students gain community-based experiences which fosters greater skill and confidence in interacting with diverse patients, increase awareness to of the dental care needs in the community, leading to better trust and more effective communication about oral health. If you are a school or a facility interested in the Seal a Smile or Titans for Teeth services, please contact Laura Wright at wrightla@udmercy.eduor 313-494-6645.
