Danish toy giant Lego opened its first flagship store in China on Wednesday after a 15-year presence in the country. Founded in 1932, LEGO Group is now the world’s sixth-largest manufacturer of toys in terms of sales.

With Lego expanding into china it may have a positive effect on the surrounding area, such as oppurtunities for employment and the raised standard of living in the area surrounding. However it could have negative side effects which could be pollution to the surrounding areas due to the waste from the plant.

A Beijing court rules in favour of Danish toymaker Lego in a copyright row, ordering counterfeit moulds to be destroyed.

This could possibly be a consequence of globalization. People trying to fake the product. As companies like lego expand into china , their is a tendency for people to make fake versions of the actual product.

Again this is likely to creat the chance for unemployment. It is also definetly likely to bring in more investment. If this store succeds then people are going to invest so that it can expand and create stores throughout the country, which will be benificial for both china and lego.
