The article looks at the effects on society and individuals by the evolution of social media and social networks. Perhaps not surprisingly, the author - Lemoyne College professor of psychology Krystine Batchois - finds both good and bad.
The downside identified by Batchos includes:
- cyber-bullying - younger people adapting more to on-line interactions and therefore lacking real-life social skills - mental health problems
Batcho asserts: : “The greater the social media use over time, the life satisfaction decreases,”
I think I'd agree with that. There can be no real substitute for real-world life and experience.

We live and work in a world that is an integrated entity, increasingly influenced by external cultural factors. For those in leadership positions it is now not only necessary to have a high IQ and EQ (emotional intelligence), but strong Cultural Intelligence (CQ) is also increasingly regarded as a necessary skill to succeed in today's global business community.
