An Introduction to the Laowa 9mmF2.8 Zero-D Experience –

An Introduction to the Laowa 9mmF2.8 Zero-D Experience – | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it
This will not be a regular lens review. I'm no professional lens reviewer and I don't primarily evaluate lenses from a technical point of view. My objective for requiring a lens is if I can make use of it and have fun with it. In the same way I'm no pixel peeper, I don't value photos from a technical point of view. We all already have cameras better then Henri Cartier-Bresson ever had, so there are no technical hindrances for getting out and take good photos. This might be a bit of extreme as a statement, so when you read my text, remember this is only my personal perspectives after playing with this lens for two weeks. My reasons for Fuji When I started my gradual transition from Canon to Fujifilm seven years ago, my main purpose was to reduce weight and size. I have always appreciated small cameras and as I always bring a camera with me, Fujifilm was a much better alternative than Canon. I really liked that the camera was small and modest, but still very capable of delivering. Over the years I have collected the smallest of Fuji prime lenses, not the fastest. I currently have

Hopefully I am not the last photographer in Singapore to visit our relatively new Jewel at Changi Airport. I have seen tons of amazing photos of  the Jewel. This morning I brought a X-T3, XF10-24mm with a 10 stop ND filter, XF90mm and X100F for my maiden visit. I must say when I first saw the Vortex waterfall; it…

In a World of Full Frame Mirrorless Cameras, Does the Fuji X-T3 Still Hold Up?

In a World of Full Frame Mirrorless Cameras, Does the Fuji X-T3 Still Hold Up? | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it
There is something of a revolution occurring in the photography world with mirrorless cameras. It seems most of the major players are entering the market with full-frame options to try and upset the stranglehold Sony has had for the last several years. Canon has its Canon EOS R series, and Nikon has its Nikon Z [...]

Stockholm Pride Parade and the XF18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 – | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it
The Stockholm Pride week is a recurring LGBTQ event that happens each year in the beginning of August. The event has a grand finale with the Pride Parade. It was the 20th time this year. I decided to be a spectator of the parade this year, a spectator with a camera. I have covered the parade a few times before, but then focusing on the spectators, witch always is interesting, but this year I decided to focus on the people in the parade.   In the parade this year I would say it was three types of participants: politicians that wants to be politically correct, companies with different types of commercial acts, and finally LGBTQ people and supporters of the movement. The latter group comes in different outfits, all from ordinary clothes to costumes or bare skin. This year there were more commercial acts then the years before, according to my opinion. A lot of companies wanted to show their respect for the LGBTQ questions while some were only there as a part of their (sometimes slightly questionable) marketing strategies. Gear As I had no accreditation to the event, I ended up together with all the spectators, outside the rope. I

Sharpness is a Bourgeois Concept –

Sharpness is a Bourgeois Concept – | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it
Almost all of my favorite photographers are dead. Almost all of my favorite photographers photographed with equipment that is essentially inferior to today's mobile cameras. Almost all of my favorite photographers photographed on film with a resolution that is only a fraction of what our modern digital cameras are capable of capturing. In other words, I am not obsessed with the idea of getting the newest equipment in hope that it will deliver my best not yet shot image. I miss nothing to photograph, my belief is that the image is created behind the camera, not in the camera. 'Sharpness is a bourgeois concept' is a favorite quote by Henri Cartier-Bresson (1908-2004), as I see it one of the greatest photographers, in my world only overshadowed by André Kertész (1894-1985). My photographic preferences were created in 1975 when I met a professional photographer in a small country town in Sweden. He showed me into a world of photography that until then had been unknown to me, and in that world I have remained. In this world there were no technically perfect images here, but instead there was the elusive feeling and the absolute right moment when the exposure was made. These pictures grabbed

Street Photography with the ‘Fujicron’ XF16mm f/2.8 R WR – | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it

On my latest trip to Hong Kong I had to be very selective with my camera gear. I had multiple projects needing different types of gear, so my Fujifilm system had to be as compact as possible. For bodies I brought the X-H1 and the new X-T30; and for lenses the XF18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS and the new XF16mm f/2.8 R WR. I would attach the new ‘Fujicron’ XF 16mm to the compact X-T30 as my stealth street kit, and the versatile XF 18-55mm on the X-H1 for video and everything else. witch to the newer compact
