Many children with autism are put on waiting lists and miss out on early behavioural interventions and other benefits because health professionals are reluctant to diagnose autism early out of fear of labelling young children.

This article has to do with why it is important to diagnose Autism in the earlier stages of a child. it also mentions how sometimes due to early diagnosis some children will "grow out of Autism" and not fit the criteria for those children under Autism. It is important to diagnose at an early stage, but sometimes doctors are reluctant to do so because sometimes children may be too young.
