One aspect that needs to be kept in mind when reading this statement: "Subsurface warming in the ocean explains why "global average air temperatures" have flatlined since 1999, despite greenhouse gases trapping more solar heat at the Earth's surface."
Global average air temperatures!!!!! That doesn't tell the story of climate change does it!
You can have devastating heat waves, breaking all previous records in one area and resulting in crop failures and livestock losses on an incredible scale, heating of the oceans which speeds up expansion and sea level rise, with increased storm intensity and in places not previously accustomed to them, and half way across the world have devastating cold spells, lasting for months that prevent normal agricultural activities, resulting in crop failures and livestock losses......And it will be AVERAGED as being the same as usual ..... globally!!
That's what's been happening the last few years and that's the ABSOLUTE FOLLY of looking at the GLOBAL AVERAGE and saying nothing has changed since 1999."

if it was 40-70 cycles that would be fine. That pool of fresh water on top keeps getting bigger. The Little Ice Age put the Northern hemisphere under a chill for over 300 years. The Climate is controlled by the Ocean along with other stimulus. The Ocean currents are controlled by temperature and salinity. Without the sink in the Arctic. The North Atlantic is still cold from last winter. We got a cold front in July and August. You can look at the thermal images and the cold line is far lower than normal.
As the rest of the world continues to heat like in Australia."
