It has been a roller coaster of an election campaign. In fact, sometimes it has almost been through the looking glass. As the two main parties failed to make any advances in the polls we saw them each attempt to take the other’s clothes. Who would have pictured a tieless, jacketless, shirt-sleeves-rolled-up David Cameron making impassioned assertions that his is the party of the working person, or Ed Miliband in a suit and blue tie positioning himself as the responsible keeper of the public purse? That is how close the main two parties remain.
