SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - South Tahoe High School has undergone a rebranding, but not in a typical way. All around the campus are displays of the school's Viking mascot to help increase student pride, and bring a sense of community and belonging to the school while also promoting and displaying the "Viking Graduate Profile."

The school takes a new approach to school safety while promoting school pride. By covering clear school campus windows and doors with school pride graphics, the campus is now safer from the transparency of the glass.

Virginia students walked out of class Tuesday after Gov. Glenn Youngkin reversed the state's transgender protections at schools.

The guidelines, released Sept. 16 by Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin's administration, require students to use restrooms, pronouns and names based on their official school records. It limits sports teams to gender assigned at birth, and it tightens parental notification requirements. Students are protesting these guidelines and looking for change.
