Middle school students talk about everything, but getting them to engage in a serious discussion about science can be challenging, especially for less confident students..

Becky Roehrs's insight:

Online Discussion forms gave students who weren't as confident with English the opportunity to take the time they needed to read the questions and compose their answers, plus gave them time to work with others to solve problems and document their answers.

Interesting topic! I remember when I was a middle school student, I liked to learn electromagnetism, and most boys in my class were interested in it. But most girls were not interested in it.
