TED has recently launched an experimental new platform called OpenTED to encourage and discover ideas. OpenTED is basically a novel initiative that invites people to create and share videos explaining a central idea.

A great idea: educated people showing compassion, and a shotglass more than the usual amount of daring.  Putting classes online for free, and using them for research to study how learning works, helps everyone.  At the time of this video there were 43 courses available. Hopefully now there's more.
