Like a basement for a building, a learning objective is very important for an eLearning course. From an instructional designer’s point of view, it helps decide what content to include and what to exclude. It forms the basis for framing the assessment questions. From the learner’s point of view, it tells him what he is going achieve after completing the course. Its gives a clear idea about what the course teaches them.

For starters, long and focused study sessions may seem productive, but chances are you are spending most of your brainpower on trying to maintain your concentration for a long period of time. That doesn’t leave a lot of brain energy for learning.

Oh boy, oh boy! When I was a student, we worked like blazes becoz we had to or we'd've failed, but we had FUN too - lots and lots of it! Now these poor devils are being analysed to death - and not even good jobs at the end of it - Guys, u woz robbed... the world has just been computerised to death! Kids, take my advice, Have Fun - don't look back on your student days and sigh for lost opportunities.

Web Tools fon Talk Tech With Me
Talk Tech WIth Me has shared three great visuals. The first one, shown as post image, maps a variety of technology tools to various Blooms Taxonomy levels. The second flowchart available on the site focuses on the question "What do you want students to do?". In other words, think backwards when designing lesson activities. The final diagram provides web tools organized by category for student use. As an additional bonus, all three visuals are provided as PDF downloads.

A printable reference table
This is not your typical Blooms Taxonomy diagram. Nick Grantham has taken it one step further by providing a column identified as "Blooms extended digital taxonomy". The new column has actually added "Sharing" as a step higher than "Creating". To go along with this new column, functional levels and activities identifying digital tools have been included.

The Big Picture Of Education Technology: The Padagogy Wheel
What I really like about this pedagogy wheel (Padagogy as they say) is the list of different activities that one could integrate into a lesson or unit addressing each of the Blooms/SAMR framework levels. The other nice piece is the list of verbs provided one could use in right objectives for the integration lessons.

One of my roles is to serve as the Network Coordinator and help facilitate the Internet filtering. Well, educators are awesome at finding value in tools that others may see as "entertainment". In this case, YouTube does provide a wealth of education resources and this list just touches on a few. Thanks to EdTechReview for compiling this list.

"As we employ the 1 to 1 experience, we need to ask two important questions. Is the 1 to 1 and the device about using technology, or is it about a more meaningful and engaging learning experience? Spending a day online for individual research can be a wonderful simple integration of technology experience, but might not be a true blended learning opportunity. Asking students to research and then collaborate with each other online in a collective experience takes this integration and provides more of a blended experience.
"The blended learning experience allows technology and the online experience to breakdown the traditional classroom allowing important transformation. One might wonder where on the spectrum of simple integration to blending learning a possible learning activity might be. I would like to share a lens of ten ideas that educators may wish to look at as they reflect on their 1 to 1 activity and classroom learning experiences that use technology . Sometimes it is just a simple tweak to bring out the wonderful possibilities of blended learning. Please feel free to read my ideas below that might allow you to use classroom technology to bring out a richer and blended learning experience."

Recently I was traveling to a school district in western Kansas, along with a group of awesome education minds, to provide professional development. It was during the drive west a close friend of mine brought up the topic of "Blended Learning" and how she planned to provide insight and engagement on the topic for her session. We all agreed that one would probably find 8 or more differing definitions out of a group of 10 educators. I just wish I had this article to share with her prior to the session. The article does a nice job of breaking down and explaining "Blended Learning".

This video "The SAMR Model Explained By Students" was created to give teachers a broad overview of Ruben R. Puentedura's SAMR framework for technology integration. Special thanks to Kathy Schrock and Carl Hooker whose resources on SAMR helped inspire this video.
This is one of the best SAMR videos I have viewed. What I like best is how the students connect actual approaches to each level along with connections back to Blooms.

The site claims that it will address 10 times more mistakes than a word processor including contextual spelling errors and poor vocabulary usage.
Where was this grammar resource site/tool when I was having to write so many papers in college? Now this will be a great option to go right along with hemingwayapp.com for reviewing my blog posts.
