This article can show us that between the joy and the filmaking theres a very short line of division cause when youre are trying to have a good movie done youve always will nedd to be on a grate mood condition

That Snape...always a cut up...

A little Sunday fun...great images from classic films that give us glimpses behind the scenes and remind us of just how much committed actors are able to pull us into their world and get us to suspend our disbelief. So much so in fact, that several of these images are actually a bit jarring. Michael Corleone   belly laughing? No way.

Machinima: How brands are making films within games

Machinima: How brands are making films within games | Directing Dreams |

"Creating movies from within computer games may sound like something best left to teenage boys, but the art of machinima, making animated films from within the real-time 3-D 'engine' of a video game, is proving anything but says Aaron Martin, Collective London's head of strategy" ...

Juan Carlos Burgon's insight:

I think in this times of life videogames are openning the doors for new types of filmaking by giving them chances to start producing about new topics and types of themes that are related to life and to actual information that would be great for editing and producing films, they would be magical, or of action, drama and they will have too many kind of brilliant acts to show

Henrik Safegaard - Cloneartist's curator insight, June 9, 2013 2:04 PM

Seeing the opportunity, EA commissioned Stoneman to create a piece of machinima that showcased the new downloadable content while paying homage to those "Only in Battlefield" moments.

The resulting short movie quickly became one of the most effective pieces of content EA has produced, generating more than 765,000 views and 25,000 likes without even as much as a sponsored post in media support. EA’s campaign for 'Battlefield 3' garnered them the top spot in the newly released Social Brands 100 for 2013.

Michael Mann movie begins filming in L.A.

Michael Mann movie begins filming in L.A. | Directing Dreams |

Michael Mann's international cyber thriller has quietly begun filming in Los Angeles.

Raja Productions US recently pulled various permits for "camera tests" at various locations around Los Angeles for the untitled Michael Mann movie known as "Cyber."  Mann, a director and producer on "Cyber,"  previously filmed in the area with HBO's racetrack drama "Luck," which shut down last year in the wake of three horse fatalities.

This week a small crew from "Cyber" was set to film at the JW Marriott Los Angeles hotel at L.A. Live. Previous locations have included the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Alexander Avenue and the corner of 6th and Catalina streets, according to film permits.

The Legendary Pictures film tells the story of American and Chinese authorities collaborating to crack a high-level computer hacking operation.

Set for release next year, the movie stars Chris Hemsworth, Viola Davis  and prominent Chinese actors Wei Tang and Leehom Wang.  Parts of the film also are expected to shoot in Hong Kong, marking the latest example of collaboration between China and Hollywood filmmakers eager to penetrate the burgeoning Asian film market.

"Cyber" is among several lower-budget features shooting in L.A. So far this year, feature film activity is up 16% compared with the same time a year ago, while television production is up 22% and commercial production has climbed 5% higher, according to permit data compiled by the Los Angeles Times.

The data, from the nonprofit group FilmL.A. Inc., track location filming -- that which occurs on noncertified soundstages and L.A. city and county streets.
