Blake, DM's definitely efficient because of it's direct nature. It does exactly what it is meant to do. The article was an interesting read and it is true that direct marketing may also help to strengthen a relationship between a product/company and a consumer.

Stephanie Tucker's insight:

This article illustrates the benefits of direct marketing. The success and growth of a business in todays world can have a significant increase in profits and sales due to direct marketing for consumer engagement that can give businesses the edge they need. The article talks about how direct marketing either through direct response or mail marketing can be an important tool to use and extremly effective. Direct marketing allows businesses to directly address the consumer with their product whether it is through mobile marketing, promotional letters, catalogs or online advertising. It can be most effective and powerful for both small and large businesses. I totallt agree. Direct marketing is a brilliant way to directly connect with consumers which can help build personal connections. When direct marketing to engage consumers, direct mail seems to be one of the most reliable types of driect campaigning which they illustrate in the article. It can help attract positive attention from potential customers and not in an intrusive way like door knocking. The most common way includes through postcards, free trail CD's and advertising mail including catalogs. I think that direct marketing can help especially smaller businesses to get their products or services heard about and can be more cost effective way of marketing when it comes to engaging your consumers.

@yuhang. great article choice here for describing the 7 benefits of direct marketing, helped me understand and think about how a company would particularly impart this. For example building personal connection is a great way to get feedback and therefore improve your business. An example of allowing this to happen would be to have you floor staff (the people talking with other people) understand the importance and bigger picture of their job. Many people at this level feel worthless to the company but they are actually one of the most importance as they built customer relationships and help build a perspective of the brand and it's name.
