Commonwealth of Learning - Fostering Governmental Support for OERs Internationally

Commonwealth of Learning - Fostering Governmental Support for OERs Internationally | Corridor of learning | Scoop.it

Sir John Daniel's presentation at Open Cambridge, 17 April. He talked about the survey that CoL had carried out in recent months, aimed at identifying what governmental OER policies exist globally. So far only 17 governments in the "Europe region" have responded to the survey. The aim is to draft a Declaration on OER that will be presented to the World OER Congress in Paris in June.

The draft declaration can be found at http://tinyurl.com/unesco2012declaration.

In question time afterwards, he was at pains to point out that he didn't want to "frighten the horses" (scare governments away) from participating in these global consultations by making the conditions in the Declaration too arduous.
