Previous research into the effects of "screentime" on baby and child development referrred to TV viewing which is not interactive, so it is difficult to apply those research findings to the use of tablets and touch screen devices. the earlier research concluded that children under two should not watch TV at all and that time spent watching TV was detracting from one-to-one adult child activity and language development.
