I selected this article from Curatti written by Shelly Kramer because it provides insights on the way people interact on social media from their devices.

The world of technology has shifted in the way we conduct our marketing online

How Second Screen Social Affects Social Media

Most consumers use multiple platforms to get their information and make purchases. I agree that marketers should fully understand how their audience is viewing brands.

Kramer explains how we have evolved into using several different devices in our social interactions.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Americans under the age of 65 are watching less and less television each year. Television apps are now all the rage with over 200 new channels having been created.

  • The heaviest users of social media are women ages 35 to 49 (the Generation X women). These people are more likely to make an online purchase than non-social media users.

  • In order to reach your target audience you need to now have a creative approach. This means businesses can  market to both television and social media users.

I selected this article from Curatti written by Raymond Morin because it provides predictures on consumer behavior in the next two years.

The influence of buyers has dramatically changed and will continue to evolve.

Understand The 'Generaction C' Consummer

Customers are more connected online than ever before. I agree that in order to grab their attention you need find out what they are looking for in a brand.

Morin shows the latest changes in consummer behavior and how to best meet their needs and desires.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • The trust meter has gone down over the last few years. Today people rely on review and recomendations -- especially from family and friends.

  • Content that is spread through social media has become the main source of information. These outlets are priority over traditional media.

  • With mobile platforms like Snapchat and Instagram consummers now want instant information. This has also created an emergence of niche bloggers to meet the demand.

Who Really Gets People To Buy On Social Media Influencers or Early Adopters?

Who Really Gets People To Buy On Social Media Influencers or Early Adopters? | Business Improvement and Social media | Scoop.it
According to findings of a new study by the Webby Awards, Social Media platforms really do allow people to influence the purchasing activities of their connections. The strategic question remains, however: who actually gets people to buy? Some social media experts say you must win the “influencers” to your cause and make them your advocates....

Social Content Marketing is no longer an Option.

Our web traffic will live or die on how well we engage in social media. Google Plus and Facebook and Twitter and Pinterest and YouTube and LinkedIn and Yelp are all part of our social sphere of influence.

Randi Thompson's curator insight, February 6, 2014 9:43 AM

Those are pretty good numbers.  6 out of 10 people are not buying products because other people have shared them.  Who would have thought?

renata mello's curator insight, February 21, 2014 11:10 AM

Can we really influence people? Should we just listen to what they have to say and tell stories and ways to help them?

I selected this article from Curatti written by Raymond Morin because it explains the latest results by Nielsen on the habits of social media users.

The biggest audience on social media is not millennials after all.

The Changing Landscape in Marketing Online

People between the ages of 35 and 50 spend the most amount of time on social networks. I agree that this reveals the younger generation prefer to spend their time on mobile devices.

Morin explains the details of the study and explains how brands need to respect the values of their community with genuine interactions on social media.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • The use of social media differs according to the type of platform that is used. For example, on Facebook 178.8 million users log on with their smart phone in the U.S.

  • Depending on the nature of the social network, the nature of the users also changes. They will interact in different ways with brands.

  • Generations also have differences. Millenials are most likely to follow a business to gather information about them and to be entertained. Gen X'rs tend to follow for promotions, and Baby Boomers follow for promotions and information.

Do You Know Why Old Content is the King of Content Marketing?

Do You Know Why Old Content is the King of Content Marketing? | Business Improvement and Social media | Scoop.it
You don't need more content. You need old content. I know, that's not what you usually hear, so stick with me and we will look at some numbers to see why it is so important.

Via janlgordon
Albert Green's comment, September 11, 2013 9:43 AM
Although the idea is very interesting, I don't see any valid arguments that OLD content is the key to high rankings. You even can't say there's a correlation here because 14/30 pages are less then 1 year old and 16/30 are more than 1 year old.
The method for determining OLD website is also faulty since the age of domain is not the same as the age of the content itself. So if the page has been updated within this year, it should be labeled as new. To my mind, 90% of the TOP10 search results pages have been updated during last year, so this would mean that NEW content is the key to high rankings.
And since this is just a hypothesis, I must present an actual trend that has been spotted by SEO specialists recently. After latest Google Search engine updates, fresh content easily wins over old content with a lot of backlinks. If OLD content was the king, there would be NO fresh content (up to 1 month old) on first page at all.
Karen Tracey McCarty's curator insight, January 30, 2014 12:07 PM

Some things we know are better with age, like wine and wisdom, but content? Seriously? Read on to see stats showing why your old content can be a power horse for generating increased site traffic and search results.
