Tina Fey dusts off Sarah Palin impression on 'Inside the Actors Studio' | Bossypants Tina Fey Independent Reading |
Tina Fey dusted off her famous Sarah Palin impersonation during an appearance on "Inside the Actors Studio" this week, proving her skills at mocking the former Alaska governor are as sharp as ever.
katie's insight:

This web source is an article displaying the highlights of Tina Feys humor as Sarah Palin. She recieved much criticism about her part as Palin but this article praises her performance.

She mentions the criticism and reviews she got from accepting the part of Palin. She also criticizes herself many times throughout the book comparing herself to the actors. This was a major time in her life and one of her most memorable roles on SNL.

Its suprising the criticism that she got, but its good that she brushed it off. Its good to remember the good times instead of the sad ones. She is proof that anything is possible.

This was a good clip to use because it was one of Fey's most well-known roles. It highlights her humor, and therefore provides evidence to her personality throughout her book, Bossypants.

SNL Tina Fey then Gov. Palin

Tina Fey & Amy Poehler spoofs real Gov Palin interview with Katie Couric
katie's insight:

This is a video of Tina Fey paroding Sarah Palin and Amy Poehler paroding Katie Couric. Its a hilarious segment from "Saturday Night Live"

Immitating Sarah Palin was one of Tina Feys most memorable parts of her career on "SNL". This clip in particular was one of the best moments of her life as Sarah Palin. It also shows how well she worked with Amy. She mentions this bit and a few of her other ones as Sarah Palin, in the book.

As a SNL fan I love watching these funny clips and Tina Fey is one of the best actresses on that show. I think it is so interesting that she wrote about this in her book.
Katerina's comment, May 28, 2013 10:23 AM
I really liked getting to see an example of one of the famed Palin skits that Tina Fey did on SNL. This clip really allows that we put visuals to something that Fey talked a lot about in her book.
Jen Gilbreath's comment, May 28, 2013 10:27 AM
This was a good clip to show because it shows her sense of humor and it also shows that Tina is an excellent comedian which provides ethos to her book Bossypants.

katie's insight:

Ellens book is an autobiography on her life. It tells of her ups and downs she had to face in order to get to where she is today. She talks about her shows and how she handled coming out as gay when she was already somewhat famous. Overall it is a hilarious and insightful book.

Ellen DeGeneres is also a comedian. She has a very similar outlook on life and sense of humor as Tina Fey. Both are very sarcastic. I think those who enjoy Tina Fey would also very much enjoy Ellen.

Ashley's comment, May 28, 2013 10:09 AM
I think this is so cool that we get to see into these comedians lifes because we usually don't see the sad parts of their lifes.
Jen Gilbreath's comment, May 28, 2013 10:24 AM
I love Ellen, and would definitely read this book. Like like Ashley said, it is interesting to see what comedian's lives are like when they aren't performing.

katie's insight:

Bossy pants is a quirky and sarcastic autobiography of the life of Tina Fey. Tina Fey's shameless humor shines in this book as she writes about her life on SNL, 30 Rock, and as a working parent. She starts out by telling us of her early life and how she gre into who she is today. Then she goes into describing the ups and downs of being famous. Throughout the book we see Tina's difficulties with the press and struggles of overworking. She shows us what its like to be a comedian and how much drama can come from a few jokes. One of the main themes or points she seems to be trying to teach people about is feminism in the working world. She talks about first and second hand accounts of women experiencing judgment and being labeled as "crazy". Overall this is very funny and interesting book that brings you into the world of comedy and Tina Feys life.

Personally, I loved this book. Its one of the few books that I was actually able to keep reading without falling asleep after ten minutes. I thought it was clever and very funny. I learned from this book that while the celebrity life seems appealing from the outside, it is actually just as stressful as any other job. She also showed me that you really shouldn't feel the need to impress others because there will always be people trying to judge you or make you feel jealous and there's really no point in trying to impress them. This book was an all together great book that, through the humor, actually teaches good lessons about life.

Ashley's comment, May 28, 2013 10:19 AM
This book seems very shocking but very funny. I love the sarcastic tone in books because it makes you laugh at reality. Its a good thing that you didnt fall asleep because thats always a good sign.
Jen Gilbreath's comment, May 28, 2013 10:30 AM
Overall this seems like a well-written autobiography because most are not entertaining and are not interesting. However, Fey's seems like it will be a fun read, but also informative which is important to keep the reader's attention.
