BIODIVERSITY IS LIFE –
The Miraculous Web of Life Sustains ALL Species on Planet Earth – Healthy Ecosystems, Healthy Humans. WITHOUT NATURE WE DO NOT EXIST. PERIOD.  To the degree Nature is sick, so are we.  We humans must reintegrate into the greater web of life as a species within it and not separate from it, by returning to respect and restoring balance and harmony to that which supports all life on this planet ... Nature ... #GDP should be replaced by #EcoEconomics ... Putting front and center the concerns for how we are destroying and objectifying the natural world for profit  #Conservation #Ecosystems #Wildlife #Forests #Environment #Biodiversity #Ecoeconomics #CSR #GDP #Anthropocene

Cousteau says we can:

1) Get the leaders of our nations to demand putting a stop to the poaching that is creating economic instability and national security risks

2) Be more aware of the products we purchase to make sure they do not contain illegal wildlife body parts

- ▶ POACHERS KILL AN ELEPHANT MATRIARCH AND HER FAMILY IN KENYA, PROMPTING A CALL FOR HELP

November 11, 2012 - New York Times

On October 27, Nick Brandt, a photographer and conservationist, photographed Qumquat, one of the best known matriarchs in the elephant population around Kenya’s Amboseli National Park, walking with two daughters, their young and other kin.

One day later, the old female and nearly all of the other elephants in this group were found slaughtered. Their faces had been hacked off by the poachers to be sure they gleaned every ounce of ivory from the tusks. (Click here for photographs of the result – not for the squeamish.)... http://dotearth.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/11/11/africas-ivory-driven-elephant-slaughter-continues-a-family-falls/?partner=rss&emc=rss
