Villa Eläintarha will focus on short-term production residencies, with a thematic focus on performing arts and in projects that take place public space. Minimum residency duration is 1 week, maximum 2 months. Professionals from all fields of culture can apply for the residency. You may submit an application at any time. Applications concerning the following year can be submitted from 1st of April. Villa Eläintarha is an artist residency in a 19th century wooden villa in centre of Helsinki, next to Töölönlahti bay. City of Helsinki established an artist residency at the villa in the year 2000. HIAP will arrange introduction events at the villa in early 2019 for artists and organisations who are interested in the residency. The Ransom Center offers fellowships to support short-term residencies for research projects that require substantial on-site use of its collections. The fellowships range from one to three months, with stipends of $3,500 per month. Travel stipends and dissertation fellowships provide stipends of $2,000. International fellows will receive an additional $500 stipend to offset visa and travel costs. The stipends are funded by endowments and annual sponsors, including the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Research Fellowship Endowment, Alfred A. and Blanche W. Knopf Fellowship, and the Marlene Nathan Meyerson Photography Fellowship Endowment.
