How We Grew Blog Traffic by 650% in Two Years — Organically

How We Grew Blog Traffic by 650% in Two Years — Organically | AI Content Marketing Tools | Scoop.it

"We ran each idea through keyword research (via Moz Keyword Explorer and Keyword Planner) and social research (Buzzsumo). This process gave us direction on which messaging resonated with different audiences and how we would distribute our content."

Nathan Binfords insight:

A great new post on Moz's blog discusses a case study in growth hacking that increased traffic to a blog by 650%.

One of the most notable takeaways from the post, in my opinion, is the application of automated research / content discovery tools to replace typical brainstorm sessions.

This is a trend we talk about frequently on the MarketChorus blog. Content discovery is a big challenge for marketers.

You can't tell good stories without good data. And it doesn't do any good to tell stories that have already been told a hundred times before.

Marketers need good, fresh data -or at least a fresh discussion where we can insert ourselves into the digital conversation and add value.

Tools that automate content discovery, by constantly searching in the background and recommending worthwhile content to you, will soon be as invaluable an asset to marketers as reporting software.

This case study shows that potential in cold hard numbers...and I like that.

Council Post: Rise Of Machine Learning: Lessons From Google And Facebook

Council Post: Rise Of Machine Learning: Lessons From Google And Facebook | AI Content Marketing Tools | Scoop.it
While both platforms are hurriedly building out machine-learning capabilities in an effort to entice more budgetary allocation from marketers, their approaches to doing so have been a study in contrast.
Nathan Binfords insight:

Google and Facebook have been quietly introducing machine learning algorithms to their platforms for years, essentially kicking off the mainstreaming of AI in the process.

The last few years have shown us that this can create both positive and negative outcomes for both marketers and our audiences.

Either way, there's a lot to learn from the big guys when it comes to integrating artificial intelligence into day to day business processes.

Google has always taken a "recommended but optional" approach to automation, which they typically manage with machine learning algorithms.

Facebook, in contrast, is much forceful when it rolls out updates to their user experience. Recently, Facebook announced that it will be forcing advertisers to use campaign budget optimization (CBO) and removing the ability to manually optimize between ad sets.

Different marketers feel differently about the switch but regardless which side you land on, it's indicative of two very different ways of looking at the potential of AI technology.

Google treats AI as a way to deliver a more seamless experience that benefits users (when they want it). Facebook uses AI to exert more control over their users and advertisers.

Which do you think will prove to be the more effective strategy in the long term?

Traackr Unveils New Influencer Discovery Capabilities to Evaluate Audience Quality and Brand Value Alignment

Traackr Unveils New Influencer Discovery Capabilities to Evaluate Audience Quality and Brand Value Alignment | AI Content Marketing Tools | Scoop.it
Influencer fraud cost brands an estimated $1.3 billion in 2019, and the additional rise in influencer scandals has put pressure on marketers to ensure brand value alignment before collaborating.
Nathan Binfords insight:

Traacker is trying to tackle one of the most big challenges preventing more companies from pursuing influencer marketing.

Marketers are justifiably suspicious of unvetted influencers due to ongoing issues with fraud and the prevalence of easily manipulated vanity metrics.

According to Traackr, "Audience Quality is calculated with a score, ranged from one to 100, that measures overall quality of an Instagram influencer’s audience. It takes into account suspicious accounts and authentic engagement.".

Features like this will help marketers identify qualified influencers at a glance, providing a repeatable, trainable process to follow and reducing the likelihood of making costly mistakes.

Best of luck to Traackr. We'll be watching from the sidelines!

Understanding Use Cases & the Ethical Implications of AI in Marketing [Q&A with Raj Balasundaram] | CustomerThink

Understanding Use Cases & the Ethical Implications of AI in Marketing [Q&A with Raj Balasundaram] | CustomerThink | AI Content Marketing Tools | Scoop.it
Nathan Binfords insight:

The emergence of AI into the mainstream has many people grappling with big questions involving ethics, economics, and the future of humanity.

We're all big fans of science fiction here at MarketChorus, but the fact remains that humanity is still a long way from reaching the human-machine singularity.

The learning machines of today don't work like Cmdr. Data from the Star Trek Enterprise. Machine learning algorithms are just distributed pieces of software that calculate, analyze, and "predict" outcomes mathematically.

They aren't scary. They aren't going to take your job, unless you do a really boring, repetitive job that requires absolutely no creativity or emotional intelligence.

No, artificial intelligence is less like Skynet and more like Google Search. It's precisely the laborious, redundant activities like mining huge amounts of information for insights that AI is being put to task on today.

As marketers we should be less concerned about the ethics of machine learning and more eager to embrace the efficiencies made possible by algorithms processing data in distributed, cloud-based networks.

The robots still work for us...for now. ;-)

Just remember to keep your hands on the steering wheel.

Auto-transcriptions of phone call recordings can be processed with natural language processing and then analyzed for sentiment, context, and examined in aggregate to identify trends and spot issues at an enterprise level before they spiral out of control. 100+ Tools & Resources to Make Content Creation Easier

100+ Tools & Resources to Make Content Creation Easier | AI Content Marketing Tools | Scoop.it

Content creation is one of the biggest challenges facing marketers today. Here are 100+ tools and resources to make content creation easier...

Nathan Binfords insight:

Content curation isn't just a way to fill your social media feeds, or at least, it shouldn't be.

Any time you share a post it creates an opportunity to build a relationship with whomever shared it originally.

The hardest part of building an audience is getting in front of new people. When you're on the hunt for content to share, keep this in mind, and look for good quality content from smaller content creators.

When you share a post from someone who's still trying to build their audience, they'll be much more appreciative than an established publisher (who's already being shared regularly).

This makes curation one of the better tactics for growing your social / blogger network.

Share other creators' content generously (and mention them in your post) and you'll find they're only too happy to share your content in the future.
