The Pope has established this Emergency Solidarity Fund to come to the aid of those people and communities who are being tragically impacted by the spread of COVID-19 in the Pope’s missions, as it supports religious Sisters and Brothers, priests, and lay pastoral workers who reach out through hospitals and small clinics, and parish and social ministries, providing vital health care, as well as basic needs, including food and shelter.

During Mass at Casa Santa Marta, Francis prays that rulers and scientists find the right path to the crisis caused by Covid-19, solutions that are in favor of the people. In his homily, he says that the choice will be between the life of peoples and the god of money. If you choose money, you choose the path of hunger, of slavery, of wars, of arms factories, of children without education. The Lord, is the Pope's prayer, help us to choose the good of the people
