WHITE HOUSE: Energy execs spend big at Trump hotel 'Disneyland' - E & E News | Agents of Behemoth | Scoop.it

The Trump International Hotel rolled out the red carpet last summer for the two coal companies that have done the most to curry favor with the owner of the Washington, D.C., luxury destination: President Trump.

Occupy Hades's insight:

While taxpayers like you are struggling to pay their inflated tax bills, Donald Trump is raking in the cash from the lobbyists and executives who stay at his hotel. However, he isn't required to disclose how much he earns and he continually refuses to show anyone his tax returns. It doesn't seem fair, does it? No, it doesn't.

Maine paid for 40 rooms at Trump hotel for LePage, staff - PressHerald.com | Agents of Behemoth | Scoop.it

MaineDocuments recently obtained by the Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram show that the LePage administration paid anywhere from $362 to more than $1,100 a night for rooms at the luxury hotel during trips to meet with President Trump or his inner circle, attend White House events or talk to members of Congress. Receipts from those dozen trips also show the Republican governor or his administration spending hundreds of dollars on filet mignon or other expensive menu items at the restaurant in the Trump hotel. Those expenditures are likely to draw additional scrutiny from attorneys who have cited LePage’s previously disclosed stays at the D.C. hotel in a federal lawsuit alleging the president is improperly profiting from the business.

Calling Trump’s bid to halt discovery in the emoluments case “a drastic end-run around the appellate process,” the state attorneys general contended in a brief to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals that the president cannot short-circuit the normal appeal process to avoid discovery.

Trump claims immunity, asks court to toss foreign payments suit - PoliticusUSA.com | Agents of Behemoth | Scoop.it

President Donald Trump has again asked a U.S.court to dismiss a suit accusing him of flouting constitutional safeguards against corruption by refusing to separate himself from his business empire while in office, claiming "absolute immunity."...

Occupy Hades's insight:

Donald Trump not only wants a pass after knowing breaking U.S. laws, he wants a permanent "stay out of jail card." If that happens, greed and avarice won't be the only sins driving the Trump administration and the rest of the skinflints, cheapskates and misers in Congress.
