Socrative | Web based student response system and GREAT real time assessment tool!

Socrative | Web based student response system and GREAT real time assessment tool! | 21st Century Schools | Scoop.it
Socrative is a smart student response system that empowers teachers to engage their classrooms through a series of learning exercises via smartphones, tablets and laptops.
Get a quick pulse-check at the end of the class by asking a few questions to gauge your students understanding of today's concepts - real time data! Or use it during class to engage students in quizzes, MQCs, games and lots more.
Teacher goes to t.socrative.com on any browser and creates a room identified by a numeral. Student goes to m.socrative.com and enters a "virtual room" number to log into class session and respond to the activity designed by teacher. Really a very useful tool for immediate assessment of student understanding!

Technology Integration Matrix (TIM)

Technology Integration Matrix (TIM) | 21st Century Schools | Scoop.it
The Technology Integration Matrix (TIM) was developed to help guide the complex task of evaluating technology integration in the classroom. The TIM incorporates five interdependent characteristics of meaningful learning environments: active, constructive, goal directed (i.e., reflective), authentic, and collaborative (Jonassen, Howland, Moore, & Marra, 2003). The TIM associates five levels of technology integration (i.e., entry, adoption, adaptation, infusion, and transformation) with each of the five characteristics of meaningful learning environments. Together, the five levels of technology integration and the five characteristics of meaningful learning environments create a matrix of 25 cells as illustrated on this site - really useful in illustrating how teachers can use tech to enhance learning. The TIM site offers a richness in resources too.
