RiverStokes708's insight:

It would be great to become a millionaire off of just something you think is funny or something that you love doing.  Ordinary people coming up with their own original ideas and getting famous off of it must be a great feeling.

This article gives ten examples of people who became highly successful from YouTube. They all come from a variety of backgrounds and have different talents. The talents the article features range from game play, collectors to  comedians.

Each person has become highly successful because of their fan base. This has become such a internet trend because of all these success stories. These were all ordinary people who wanted to document their hobbies. I think people attach themselves to these videos because they are so relatable. When you see someone doing what you love it is inspiring to motivate yourself to do the same. I really think that since America is in such a different mindset than the past that these videos are pure entertainment. People see them as a series and completely relatable. It is different from a movie where you see famous actors and actresses as a character different from themselves. You don't actually see them for what they are and love.

RiverStokes708's insight:

Myspace was defiantly a big factor back in the day to make it in the music scene but people weren't really getting to much of a visual.  It was so great that youtube came into play for follow up artists.  This says 15 and there are so many more to come as long as youtube doesn't get corrupted.

Via Jessica Powers
RiverStokes708's insight:

People are expressing their personal lives on youtube, to get some type of reaction.  I do see people singing or rapping about their lives like this all the time, I mean its cool but i feel regardless you know that your going to get views because it is sad and you wanna see some type of sympathy in your feedback.

This video features a typical high school senior with 6 million views on a video of her singing an original song uploaded to her YouTube. She really has a incredible voice and has great song writing talent. She was not expecting any response from the public, she wrote the song in only fifteen minutes.

I believe the reason this video because so popular (besides her amazing voice) is because of the story she describes in the song. It's about growing up around abuse and overcoming obstacles. Just like how America is reading more happy good for the soul news articles, they want to hear music with a good message. Times are hard and hearing "everything is going to be alright" can be extremely uplifting and encouraging. Everyone can relate to her story in one way or another. She recorded the song on a cracked iPhone and is really just an american girl. Of course this video is viral!
