Fat Tax. Time to weigh in on a decision? | Year 9 Jounal Jono Fowles | Scoop.it

This article is about the many Australian's that are overwieght. It talks about how many people prefer to sit at home on media devices while eating unhealthy food rather than doing excersise or something productive.

This article relates to lifestyle diseases that we have been stydying in class.

I think it's disapointing that there are so many lazy people who can't be bothered to do excersise. Its also sad because they are increasing their risks of cancer and other diseases.

Underage drinking rates 'alarming'

Underage drinking rates 'alarming' | Year 9 Jounal Jono Fowles | Scoop.it

This article is about underage teens consuming millions of dollars worth of alcohol, and the government isn't using that money to spend it on the underage drinking problem.

This article relates to our topic in term 1 because we were focusing on sensible drinking and the laws that go with alcohol.

My opinion of this article is that it is terrible that there is that much money being spent on alcohol by teenagers, but it is even worse that the government isn't doing anything about it.

Surge in teenage sex

Surge in teenage sex | Year 9 Jounal Jono Fowles | Scoop.it

In this article, it says that the alcohol consumption among Australia's teenagers has gone up and so has the incidence of sex under the influence of alcohol.

This relates to both topics because it states the risks with alcohol and teenage sex which we have been learning in class.

My opinion about this article is that it is a ridicoulus thing that as teen alcohol consumptions go up the teenage sex incidents will go up. These incidents should try to be reduced.

Call to ban underage drinking at home

Call to ban underage drinking at home | Year 9 Jounal Jono Fowles | Scoop.it

This article is about the 2007 Victorian law and how it allows underage teens to be served alcohol at home without parental permission. It talks about how the Australian Drug Foundation says this is ridiculous.

This article relates to term 1 topic of how underage teens would have to make decisions about drinking and this article mentons that.

My opinion about this, is that this law isn't a good law at all. Drinking underage is already an unhealthy and unsafe thing but being allowd to drink in your house as a party without your parents permission could be very bad. Things could get out of control very quickly.
