Japanese, Indonesian and Malay pearl divers in Broome

This collection of seven digital curriculum resources focuses on Japanese, Indonesian and Malay pearl divers and workers in northern Western Australia during the first half of the 20th century. It is organised into three categories - diving for pearl shells; working the pearl shells; and the lives of Japanese and Indonesian pearl divers. While the collection includes a photograph and a document, its main feature is historical film footage taken on board pearling luggers and in Broome.
