The Pomodoro Technique is a brilliant time management tool that allows you to break down big (and sometimes daunting) tasks such as writing a dissertation into a series of many smaller steps. Break your time up into blocks of 25 mins work + 5 mins break. Assign a small, specific task to each block (like writing a paragraph or summarising a piece of research) and see how much you get through each day. I cannot recommend this enough.
