Visuals are wonderful learning tools, and this beautiful infographic is a keeper. Created by an artist to depict "The Shapes of Stories" by Kurt Vonnegut, the pictures are worth a thousand words.

This would be an interesting way to teach writing in school. There are certain basic literary archetypes that teachers could focus on. this is not an exhaustive list, but is a great place to begin

Maybe a tad too complex for our young students, but still a nice way of understanding the foundations of storytelling!!

Seven steps to the perfect story is a great visual representation of how to build a story. This clearly explains the process of how students can construct their narrative and the types of characters they will use. I would definitely use this in my classroom to help students understand the process of creating a narrative.

Piktochart has recently been upgraded, and now it makes infographics and presentations more interactive. You can now insert hyperlinks in your content and make your charts and tabs interactive. Also it is easier to save and share your infographics.

Unfortunately, free account is very limited, it gives you only 4 basic themes to choose from. Paid accounts for students start at $3.33 per month.

Check out Piktochart for education http://piktochart.com/education/

Infographics, when used correctly, appropriately, are powerful tools for conveying a lot of pertinent information plus they support visual learning and thinking.  I curate a Scoopit on Infographics...

Beth Dichter's insight:

Jackie Gerstein shares her top picks for education infographics this year. Some of these have been shared in this Scoop.it but many are new. The list of infographics includes:

* The Internet Access Gap in Education

* The Past, Present and Future of Education

* State of Creativity in Education: An Adobe Survey

* The Gamification of Education

* Tapping into Mobile Learning

* Investing in Girls' Education Pays Off

Many of these would be useful as topics for discussion or to use to teach students why infographics are useful in displaying data.

Подтверждение того, что инфографика - должна быть важной составной частью обучения, в том числе в системе последипломного образования
