Milo's insight:

This article is kind of scary. This just shows how rocky America's relationship with Russia is. Hopefully Washington doesn't do anything stupid because it would cause a major catastrophe. I think that the American government doesn't want to admit how big of a threat Russia is. I just hope that this doesn't turn into a war.

Syria: 1000 Days Later

Yesterday was the 1,000-day anniversary of the beginning of the Syrian civil war.
Milo's insight:

I think this is a very interesting article. It's just interesting that it started over 3 years ago. The Syrian civil war doesn't seem like it was as deadly and violent 3 years ago as it was recently. I'm glad the Syrian civil war is over. I'm also glad more innocent people aren't being killed.

On Syria and Iran, US and Russia Can Work Together - by Madeleine Albright ...
Milo's insight:

I think that it will be very good if the US and Russia work together to get rid Syria's chemical weapons. I think that Russia is a very big ally of Syria, so they have a good chance to persuade Syria to get rid of their chemical weapons. I think that without chemical weapons the Syrian civil war will cease to exist. But the Assad regime might not want to get rid of their chemical weapons because if they do they could possibly lose power.

Milo's insight:

Most people in America are not very intelligent. Why would Miley Cyrus be more important than the Syria war on the Internet. This just shows how Americans are not concerned with world news, and it also shows that New sources are not trying to tell people about big world new stories. Wouldn'tvpeople want to know what's happening in the world? I think this is a very interesting article.

Bill would outlaw U.S. dollar in Russia

Bill would outlaw U.S. dollar in Russia | World news | Scoop.it

Predicting the imminent collapse of the U.S. dollar, a Russian lawmaker submitted a bill to the country’s parliament on Wednesday that would ban the use or possession of the American currency.

Via Iam Legion
Milo's insight:

I think the dollar will probably collapse. But that doesn't mean that Russia should ban it. It should be Russian citizen's choice if they want to have dollars in their bank account. It should also be a bank's choice if they want to have American dollars. People and banks should not be forced to get rid of their dollars. This is also another example of the limits of freedom that Russian politicians would like to place on their citizens.

Milo's insight:

This article is interesting for several reasons.I think it's unusual to use polonium as opposed to more common element like uranium. If this guy really was poisoned by polonium, their definitely will be conflict between Israel and Palestein. like the article says I also wonder if this will stop Middle East peace talks.

This is interesting. I wonder if this will create chaos in Syria. I also wonder if this report will slow down the process for creating peace in Syria. In Middle East mess, Morocco tries to catch Obama's eye USA TODAY WASHINGTON — As President Obama faces increased skepticism from Arab world allies over his administration's talks with Iran, Morocco's King Mohammed VI's White House visit on Friday...
Milo's insight:

I think this was a very important meeting. The US needs to remain allies with Morocco because Morocco is one of the very few nations in the Middle East besides Israel that is allies with the US. Although Morocco may not be a very large and powerful country they still have some power. If the US doesn't remain allies with Morocco then Israel will be in a lot of trouble. Because every nation in the Middle East will not be friends with the U.S., besides Israel, so most nations will also not be allies with Israel.

The United Nations says the Egyptian government has refused it permission to register Palestinians from Syria as refugees and give them the yellow card that allows them to settle.
Milo's insight:

I wonder if these refugees will be able to settle in Egypt. After escaping Syria, it seems like Egypt should help them. Although I guess it isn't Egypt's responsibility to help them, but It seems like Egypt should treat refugees both from Syria and Palestine the same. I think that Egypt should help these Syrian refugees because of what they have been through.

Milo's insight:

As I've said before this is just another example of Russes lack of freedoms. They shouldn't have fired this teacher just because he was gay. I think a gay relationship is just as normal as a straight relationship between two people. I think that people and the government and Russia should not be so discriminatory toward  gay people. If the government or people in Russia where to put themselves in gay peoples shoes then they would know how it felt to be so discriminated against, and they wouldn't like it.
