VOLVO Wireless Car Charging Headup

Volvo has completed a wireless charging system trial for EVs, concluding that though the technology works and is particularly convenient, the lack of a common standard means it’s not ready for the mass market. The trial, which saw a modified Volvo C30 Electric recharged by embedded induction coils in a wireless base-station, proved that not only does the system work but that it’s quick, too, taking the car from zero to fully fueled” in around 2.5hrs. In the technology’s favor, Volvo argues, is the fact that it reduces the consideration drivers need to give to actively plugging in their full-EV or hybrid. Instead, by simply parking on top of an inductive pad, the car can begin recharging automatically. We believe that this is one of the factors that can increase the customer’s acceptance of electrified vehicles,” Lennart Stegland, VP of Volvo’s Electric Propulsion System team, said of the project. Cordless technology is a comfortable and effective way to conveniently tran

Nokia DC-50 Wireless Chargin Pad with Mobile Power Bank Function

Nokia World Although it didn’t merit a mention in today’s keynote at Nokia World, a new power accessory revealed today could come in very handy indeed. The DC-50 is a spare battery without the wires – it’s a wireless charging plate for your devices, and it contains a battery that can be charged by another wireless charging plate. This means you can slap the batt on a Qi-compatible plate overnight and take it with you in the morning, putting 2400mAh of juice in your pocket for when you need it. It’s nice to see Nokia putting a real emphasis on wireless charging, and we appreciate that it builds the tech into some of its phones. Other companies force their customers to purchase a separate back panel, though to be fair Nokia does for some models, too. WirelessEfficiency supposes the DC-50 may be specifically designed for Nokia’s new 6-inch phablet, but it’s designed to work with any Qi-enabled device, including the Lumia 1020 and Lumia 925, with back plates, and Lumia 920.

The latest Wpc Qi Standard 1.2 Allow 2 inches Wireless Charging Distance

With version 1.2, the WPC is adding resonance charging to Qi s features. This makes it so the receiver (the device that needs to be charged) and the transmitter (the charging pad or surface that s pushing the power to the device) won t need to physically touch each other anymore; now they can be up to 45mm (1.77 inches) apart. The new standard is backwards-compatible, so if you already have a smartphone or tablet with Qi built-in, you ll be able to charge them up from as much as 35mm away. Qi s newfound ability to charge your gadgets from a distance is much more convenient for end users than what its current products offer. Google’s wireless charging plate for the Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and Nexus 7

Google has supported wireless charging on its Nexus devices for some time, and last year’s Nexus 4 smartphone launched with a semi-circle “puck” that acted as a dock and charger for the device. This year, the company has gone back to the drawing board with its wireless charger, revamping its design and adding magnets for better stability when placing a device on it. Similar to the Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 (2013) the new Nexus 5 is also featuring wireless charging. Which a lot of people dismissed as a feature that we don’t need. While it may seem like something that’s not a huge deal, once you use wireless charging, you can never go back.
