Make Money Through Freelance Writing

Make money though freelance writing is a common question that a lot of newbie affiliate marketers ask us. They don't know that if they plan to start an affiliate marketing career, then they must know how to write. It is their write-ups and product reviews that bring in traffic, and an eventual sale. And if this isn't a method to make money through freelance writing, then what is?

Make Money Through Freelance Writing

The fact is, there are innumerable freelancing jobs out there, that can help them make money online.

Blogging and freelance writing are only two of the options.

Blogging and freelance writing are just two things among many, where money can be earned online. It's all a matter of confidence. If an individual can blog well, am sure that he/ she can also write well to earn through it professionally. Of course, you cannot become a freelance writer overnight, unless you are articulate and good with the language that you plan to write in. Start with a blog and give yourself about six months, and you will be writing a lot better than others. Needless to say, time is the best teacher. With experience, your proofreading, editing and SEO skills improve.

A lot of people get down to try to make money from blogging only to give it up down the line. We have listed a few of the blogging mistakes that they should avoid and try not falling into the trap

Is Freelance Writing Lucrative?

Many people now make money through freelance writing . The list includes, work from home mothers, retirees, students in college and regular office goers. Some have made it a full time career while others to make some extra income out of it.

However, people are still doubtful about whether they could make money through freelance writing , and the answer to that question is YES!

One of the most frequent questions that people ask us, is to give them a brief idea on how much they can expect to make as a freelance writer. They are not to be blamed as according to them, a freelance writer's qualification is a basic idea of the English language, how to research the net and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word.

But the reality is different. They do not realize that, it takes months of practice and a lot of practice as a ghostwriter, and sample articles being posted in blogs and free e-zine article websites, that you slowly get that confidence. Not to mention the numerous amounts of articles being rejected before you get the hang of it. Once you get the hang of it and once a few articles get accepted then you reckon that you have arrived. You start taking things easy, your quality suffers, lose a couple of writing contracts and you are back to square one. That is the “big reality,” which one has to take into account before venturing into the freelance world.

Things are not as easy as they seem. There is a certain amount of discipline needed. You just can't play the blame game with your employer. But the key is “never give up, “and I guess this stands for every new challenge we take up.

What Are the Most Important Aspects for a Freelance Writer

Success can be achieved when your new career fits in with your talents and interests. The second important thing is that you need to set away some time and money to start a freelance career. If you plan to start it as a part-time career, then you would not have to worry about anything as your regular career will take care of the money aspect and you can write whenever you are free.

More details about seeking a full-time freelance career can be got by CLICKING HERE

One of the importance aspects in a work from home career is your resilience, your flexibility. This helps you maintain your balance and helps you to overlook any rejections and failures. It will also prevent you from slowing down. Try not becoming a perfectionist as it might put you into a negative frame of mind. You can overcome this by staying positive and occasionally congratulating yourself. After all, it's your work and you'll have to keep pulling up your socks.

A common problem faced by many freelance writers is that they are inconsistent in marketing themselves. As a result, they are constantly on the lookout for new freelance jobs. In other words, they get a few jobs and they think they are doing great because of the income flowing in.

Unless you have a regular contract, you have to market yourself consistently. Without a “weekly marketing schedule,” you're not filling the pipeline for new potential freelance job opportunities. As a result, you may find yourself desperately scrambling for a new job after the old assignment is completed.

So it's important to get a sense of whether you can make money though freelance writing. It all comes down to you and your potential.

Important Sources for an Aspiring Freelance Writer

CLICK HERE to download a FREE COPY of the 2012 Freelance Industry Report compiled by Ed Gandia. It covers what freelancer's do, work, what they earn and other relevant details.

About 1,500 freelancers (from over 50 different professions) provided valuable insight that is available in this free report. It covers more types of freelancing than just writing, but close to 40 percent of the people interviewed were writers and editors. Besides, close to three-quarters of the people interviewed have been freelancing more than three years. So, it should prove useful for any budding writer starting out…

About one-third of respondents reported they earned $70 an hour or more, and another 23 percent earned $50-$70 an hour.

But don't expect those figures now as there are a lot more freelancers out there, not to mention the outsourced market . This coupled with the economic crisis have considerably reduced those figures and created a rather competitive market. You can search “Amazon” and perhaps get the latest details on the freelance writing market and what freelance writers charge.

Blogging Mistakes To Avoid

Blogging mistakes to avoid – blogging is no more unique, just about everyone does it. It is no more a personal diary, as people have realized that it is also a great way to make money. However, many people try to “make money from blogging” only to give it up down the line.

The initial stages are always challenging, that many people quit blogging and just give it up down the line, as they're unable to handle the challenges it poses. We have listed a few of the “blogging mistakes to avoid,” so that you don't fall into the blog trap.

Blogging Mistakes To Avoid – Not Updating The Blog

You set up a blog, and is all excited about your new posts and the comments that follow. This continues for a few days or maybe a few weeks. Then gradually the excitement starts to die down and so do your posts.

Gradually the blog is completely forgotten. That my friend, is the red alert!

Please remember not to ever fall into this trap. It would be better to hire a person to write the blog posts for you. Just remember that nothing kills a blog faster than the lack of updates. You must post frequently, to notice any change in traffic. You'll thank me later!

Try and maintaining at least one good post per day, or try allocating half an hour for your blog each day. A blog that is updated regularly keeps moving ahead and is abuzz with thoughts from you and comments from your readers.

No one wants a dead blog! Or, do we?

Blogging Mistakes To Avoid – Blogging Only For Money

Many people are curious and ask us whether they could make money through blogging.  We tell them, “Yes, it's possible to make money through blogging,” but the reality is that, most people who write blogs exclusively to make money, really don't make any money.

Get it? Or is it confusing?

This is because blogging is an organized, disciplined and an ongoing process, where fresh content is always necessary. The sooner people forego this due to other commitments, they just lose out. This is one of the reasons why more that 90% of the bloggers do not make money from blogging.

Also, do not think when people tell you that blogging only for money is bad. It is just that you expect results too soon, and invariably cave in, and forget about it. You do this regularly and will be shocked to receive your first check, and can't help thinking whether this was due to your blogging efforts.

So, go ahead enjoy blogging – think of it as a part time hobby. There is also no harm if you lose your spontaneity – just have a back-up blogger or writer ready to write those posts for you.

Blogging Mistakes To Avoid – Proofread, Proofread and Proofread

Always proofread your blog post prior to publishing it. We all make mistakes while typing and therefore checking your post once again before posting, is a great idea. What I mean to say is that all of us make mistakes while chatting with friends, and we take it for granted that our friends would understand what we're trying to say. However, in a blog post, one cannot overlook this mistake, a post needs to be proofread at least twice, before posting. If we write something at night, we can just save it and read it twice in the morning before posting. You will notice the difference.

Of course, recently, there have been a number of blogs that have wantonly come out with posts that contain mistakes – but they can afford to do so. This is because, this is their USP (unique selling proposition). In other words, they are writing for their friends. Their friends tend to understand their slang and mistakes better than correct perfect sentences. In other words, it is slang what sells. But this can be applied to only a small percentage of people (generally the younger generation). Besides, we also need to have a large reader base or friend base for the success of such a blog.

Blogging Mistakes To Avoid – Be Personal

This is another important aspect that you have got to remember. “Writing for a blog” and “writing an article,” are two distinct styles.

Blogging is more personal. Blogging is like having a conversation with ones' inner self and also with a virtual partner. It is not like lecturing a room of students on a topic. While your knowledge of the topic would be appreciated, you lose out on the personal side if you become too preachy.

So write for your readers but don't get too personal.

Control your language, no f's and sh*t and other lose slang. Whatever said, people respect you more without it.

For instance, I received this feedback a few months back, from a client when I took on writing about a product which I knew quite well, but didn't quite fathom my reader-base.

Here is the feedback, I received from him when I sent him my draft post for review.

“You've got to stop writing like you are teaching a class. Write as if you're actually talking to me. As if, you're talking to someone at a kitchen table. Relax and make it easy to understand. If you're writing for an Industry magazine, it's perfect. You're writing for a blog. It's got to feel like a blog. People don't' write blogs with hours of research, they just sit down and write. So write using casual language. Start using contractions. We tend to use many contractions. It is = it's, I would = I'd, Should not = Shouldn't and I have= I've. This will make it sound more conversational. Again, make it easy to read. I can't critique the structure, because you didn't end the article at 400 words and put an ending to it. But as far as I can tell, the keywords were placed very well. You are missing the point of the reader. You wrote about big companies using the product, but if you read the product description, our target market isn't big companies. It's small little businesses, 1 person realtors, 5 person accountants, and 10 person contractors. You tend to be boring when you talk about big business, because the reader doesn't care about big business. However, you can use big business as an example, but talk to the reader and tell them what's in it for them. The small business guy, the entrepreneur, the start up business. Those people are the targets NOT big businesses that you spoke about. Again your writing is really amazing, it just needs to be tweaked a little.

Well there you are – So being more personal is a key to a good blog. I hope you've got the point.

Blogging Mistakes To Avoid – Respond To Comments

It is very important to respond to comments. Consider it as the magic portion for your blog. It's that important! This is what brings back readers. Successful bloggers always interact with their readers and they try to establish a link or a connection with their readers. Once you establish a connection with your readers, they will often drop by your blog to check what you have written recently.

Blogging Mistakes To Avoid – Be Original

Another key point to the success formula is to “be original.” If you find some interesting topic in some other source, say a blog or a website link – give them credit. It gives your blog a lot more value.

You don't need a small post to ruin your reputation. You may have not realized and could have been carried away by the source – but sometimes the feedback could be nasty. So try and be original.

It is funny, when people say that blog posts have been copied – people would most probably be only happy to have their topic copied, if proper credit was given to them. Be original, write for your readers. There's no rush or shortcut to success. Take one-step at a time and strengthen the bond between you and you reader.

Blogging Mistakes To Avoid -Writing For The Search Engines Instead Of People

People get carried away by KEI (keyword density index), key phrases, tags, keyword density, making sure that it is Google friendly and the rest of the jazz. But what they tend to forget is that it is people who would be reading their posts and not search engines. Your first priority should always be your readers, don't leave the SEO and keyword densities completely, but readers come first.

When you proofread your post for the post for the second time, check for the keywords and their positioning and basic optimization, i.e., opening, end and the middle should be optimized well with the main keyword. That's more than sufficient.

Blogging Mistakes To Avoid – Not Being Passionate About Your Topic

Successful bloggers are always passionate about their topic and they also maintain a high blog posting frequency. Now if you have ten blogs and you say that you are passionate about all of them – how will you be able to maintain your blog posting frequency?

It's practically impossible!

Fewer blogs written with decent degree of PASSION can take us a long way.

That's about it. You now know the blogging mistakes to avoid , so isn't it time you began making money from blogging.

Why People Fail In Affiliate Marketing

Why people fail in affiliate marketing is that most of them get carried away by the numerous websites telling them how easy it is to make money with affiliate marketing. They are not aware about why people fail in affiliate marketing. Those who have just discovered it normally think that they can make a quick buck or two.

Well, sadly, that's not the case.

SUCCESS IN AFFILIATE MARKETING IS NOT ACHIEVED OVERNIGHT ! WE DON'T MAKE SUCH PROMISES – WE ARE HERE TO JUST TELL YOU THE REAL SIDE OF THINGS.

The people we've come across either don't understand what affiliate marketing is, and what we do for a living. Alternately, they want us to teach them so that they can make a fortune in a fortnight. Majority of the people fall into the latter category. However, you can't blame them as their attitude towards us is, if we can do it, why can't they?

IT IS JUST WRONG !

On an average of twelve people or so that we tried to teach, the majority of them lasted less than a fortnight, and quickly returned to their day jobs.

It's logical to think that you don't stand a chance in affiliate marketing when you hear about the numerous failures. However, failure can easily be evaded if you know the right way to go about things.

WHY PEOPLE FAIL IN AFFILIATE MARKETING IS BECAUSE THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO GET
STARTED

Affiliate marketing is like an on-going assignment where you have to try out various techniques. Methods such as different advertising techniques, different ways of adding text links and affiliate banners to your site or blog etc.

SOME AFFILIATE MARKETERS FILL THEIR PAGE WITH A HUGE NUMBER OF AFFILIATE PROGRAMS

Filling your page with affiliate programs is a surefire reason to fail. People don't like pages filled with banners and will not bother to click anyone of them. It would appear more like a link farm. You may even have to evaluate various affiliate programs and identify the ones that best support the niche and content. In short, affiliate marketing takes time and effort before any results can be seen.

KNOWING WHAT ACTION YOU NEED TO TAKE CAN HELP YOU WITH YOUR AFFILIATE MARKETING

You have to continuously tweak with the various options until you see some form of traffic. Failure can be avoided if you know the proper way to go about things.

The above are just a few of the reasons. The whole affiliate marketing process is a detailed one. We try to list as many methods we can, but in the end, it all boils down to YOU.

CONCLUSION

If you are a bit averse to risks, it is better that you stick with your nine to five job and a steady paycheck, as affiliate marketing is NOT for you.

However, if you are bold, and have a few dollars as back-up and have the guts, then just give it a go

Do feel free to contact us if you want to know more on affiliate marketing.

It won't be long, before you realize why people fail in affiliate marketing and you will comprehend that affiliate marketing is a fabulous way to make a living.

Best,

Make A Living Out Of Blogging

We make a living out of blogging. In other words, my wife and I are avid bloggers!

However, in all likelihood, you may not have heard about my blog. The traffic that my blog generates is not something phenomenal, but could be a lot better. Our eventual aim is it to be listed in the top 500 blogs in the nation and at the same time generate a decent income. It is also a full time job for both of us. We have a couple of part-time employees and a few advertisers, and yet, we generate more money than while we were working!

It is no hidden fact that most of our readers are from the United States although, we are in the process of expanding. We are targeting marketers and readers globally, and the results are just beginning to show. When readers visit our blog, they are encouraged to take up online marketing and other methods to make money online. Nearly most of the content, if not all is targeted towards our readers.

The global blogging scenario is more or less reached a saturation point. The internet is active than never before and with the onset of mobile, access to the net and blogs has become extraordinarily easy. It is not impossible to build a popular albeit prosperous blog. However, it is hard to find that particular niche given the number of blogs, now in the net.

Let me be HONEST, it is even more difficult to make a living out of blogging. Although there are still some voids left for creative bloggers, the difficulty is finding them.
