Welcome Visitors

"Welcome to WikiWikiWeb, also known as Ward's wiki or just Wiki. A lot of people had their first wiki experience here. This community has been around since 1995 and consists of many people. We always accept newcomers with valuable contributions. If you haven't used a wiki before, be prepared for a bit of CultureShock. The beauty of Wiki is in the freedom, simplicity, and power it offers."

Green Policy, Resolutions and Ordinance Database

Green Policy, Resolutions and Ordinance Database | WikiAsVerb | Scoop.it

GreenPolicy360 is an online database which lists local legislation that is congruent with Green values. Unlike numerous other web sites, we don't offer analysis and summaries of the legislation, but the wording of the legislation itself along with other pertinent information, including a link to the original source. In time, we hope to offer interesting background information for many of the entries listed in our database. There are literally hundreds of entries and the database is growing all the time!!

Power consumption numbers for my 2011 home machine

It's been about five years since I did my last set of power
consumption numbers for a desktop. Since I now
actually have a new machine, that makes it time for
a new set of numbers.

Crashing Into Open Source (without a paddle): OccupediA - Women Contributing to Wikipedia (the first of many such events)

It seems that giving a higher level look at TheWikiWay - wiki community, philosophy idea - outside of Wikipedia - might be a good step to do as well.

One of the main points I cover in those conversations is that the gift that wiki brought the new world wide web (that Tim Berners-Lee created by making it easy to link to pages that already existed) --- wiki made it easy to link to pages that don't exist - the biggest gift to the world wide web that wiki has contributed. It is what made creating Wikipedia, and community / sites like it, possible.

Good work happening here. Best, Mark

Line56.com: Web 2.0: Ready to Go

"Why I learned to stop worrying and love the wiki, wiki you see, is the voice and platform of the worker, and there are many, many more workers than managers. A wiki is a way for workers to organize themselves and to serve their own needs without waiting for the boss, the manager, or the Encyclopedia Britannica to do it."

Open Collaboration Encyclopedia

Open Collaboration Encyclopedia | WikiAsVerb | Scoop.it

"We bring with us into the future many ideas from the past about how to build the world, how to relate with each other, how to think, how to create, how to share. Technology; whether it be hardware, software or social technology, is rapidly sweeping away long-held certainties. The playing field has had its gravity rules flipped. As a result a new game is emerging."
