While we want to promote and use US made products such laws as these result in allow companies to sell products to the state that are not required to compete in the very important areas of price and quality. Once you make a blanket law that "requires" purchase from a set of vendors you end up with higher costs and possible lower quality. The answer to our buying American isn't in laws it's in better methods of procurement than "lowest bidder" rules.
